Systems and methods utilizing gravity feed for postage metering
Systems and methods which utilize gravity feed for mail item movement in postage metering operations are shown. Embodiments provide for gravity drop feeding mail items into a portion of a postage metering system for metering operations, such as to activate or apply postage indicia thereto. Embodiments provide for gravity drop exit of mail items from a portion of a postage metering system after metering operations, such as activation or application of postage indicia thereto. Postage metering operations as performed by embodiments of the invention may comprise scanning and activation of preprinted tokens. Postage metering operations according to alternative embodiments of the invention may comprise printing postage indicia. Embodiments provide processing in addition to or in the alternative to the aforementioned postage indicia activation or printing and mail item marking operations, such as weighing, sorting, etc.
Routing different parts of a mail item to different destinations
Apparatus, methods, media and code for routing a mail item part are provided. A receiver device may electronically receive: an indication that a first mail item part of a mail item is a check; an indication that a second mail item part of a mail item is a payment coupon; and an indication that a third mail item part of a mail item is a message. A processor device may: route the first mail item part and the second mail item part to a first destination; and route the third mail item part to a second destination that corresponds to terms in the message.
Methods and systems of handwriting recognition in virtualized-mail services
In one aspect, a computerized method useful for dynamic location-based virtualized mail services includes the step of determining an identity of a user receiving a physical mail. The method includes the step of determining a location of the user. The method includes the step of determining a set of delivery locations within a specified distance of the user's current location. The method includes the step of communicating, via an electronic message, the delivery location to the user's mobile device.
MAILPIECES MANUFACTURING, DISTRIBUTION AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD
Mailpiece manufacturing, distribution and communication system comprising at least one production centre, a production software/server for generating and sending production orders to at least one processing equipment over a network for printing documents and assembling the printed documents in a mailpiece, a distribution centre for delivering the mailpiece to a customer and a domain server for interactive customer communication, the mailpiece comprising a single barcode containing a web page link for accessing the domain server and comprising processing equipment control codes or a mailpiece identifier for controlling the at least one processing equipment and for interactive customer communication.
Method and system for dynamically adjusting the relative position of internal content material in a mailpiece fabrication system
A method and system for dynamically adjusting the placement of internal content material to optimally position the content material relative to a wrapped enclosure, and obviate the requirement to out-sort the assembled envelope. Upon assembly, a detection system visually images each envelope in predetermined regions of interest (ROIs). A controller captures the image data for comparison with a set of predefined position data and issues a feedback signal indicative of a directional change which drives an error signal to zero. The correction signal is used by the phase nip roller assembly to adaptively adjust the position of the content material by incrementally adjusting, advancing or retarding, the phase-nip roller assembly, i.e., forward or aft. A predefined number of envelopes is selected to acquire a running average of the image data.
Mailpiece with personalized communication and return slip and related method utilizing wrapper system
The present teachings relate to a mailpiece and method for assembling a mailpiece using a document processing system such as a wrapper system. The assembled mailpiece has outgoing and reply envelope functionality. In the outgoing format, the mailpiece may optionally contain advertisements, inserted documents, or coupons.
Mail creation system with improved control of print-data downloading
An apparatus includes a printer and a buffer coupled to the printer for temporarily storing sheets fed out from the printer. The apparatus further includes a control mechanism for monitoring the buffer to determine a number of sheets currently stored in the buffer. The apparatus also includes a data source device that is separate from the printer and is coupled to the printer for selectively providing pages of print data to the printer. The data source device is coupled to the control mechanism and is operative to provide the pages of print data to the printer in response to control signals from the control mechanism.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING AUTOMATED APPLICATION OF TRAY TAG LABELS TO MAIL TRAYS
The present invention provides automated systems and methods of affixing tray tag labels to mail trays in an automated fashion. The systems and methods of the present invention provide an economic, cost-efficient, and reliable means of affixing tag labels to mail trays.
