Electronic locking devices, systems, and methods may require the utilization of an electronic key generated by an electronic key generation device. The electronic key may be generated using a data payload received from server and/or an administrative device. The administrative device is enabled to remotely manage the locking device and locking system via, for example, a software application running on the administrative device and/or a website.

Techniques and apparatus for controlling access to a personal communication structure (PCS) are described. The PCS may include independently accessible compartments at least partially enclosing respective subsystems of the PCS. The independently accessible compartments include an electronics compartment, a communications compartment, and a display compartment. The electronics, communications, and display compartments at least partially enclose a power distribution subsystem, a communications subsystem, and a display subsystem, respectively. The PCS also includes an access controller operable to provide access independently to respective interiors of at least a subset of the compartments to authorized users.

A trainable transceiver for installation in a vehicle and for controlling a remote device includes a transceiver circuit configured, based on training information, to control the remote device, a communications device configured to communicate with a mobile communications device, an output device, and a control circuit coupled to the transceiver circuit, coupled to the communications device, and coupled to the output device. The control circuit is configured to receive notification information from the mobile communications device via the communications device, and wherein the control circuit is configured to generate an output using the output device based on the notification information.

In one embodiment, a lock comprises a locking mechanism selectively positionable between a locked position and an unlocked position, a user interface to receive a first user input which uniquely identifies a first user, a communication interface to enable electronic communication with a remote computer system and a controller comprising logic to generate a query to a directory service, wherein the query comprises the first user input, and open the locking mechanism in response to a signal from the directory service indicating that that the first user is authorized to open the lock and that a set of conditions required to open the lock are satisfied.

Described herein is a lock system (e.g., for a vehicle door) including an NFC circuit in communication with a microcontroller that monitors the voltage of a battery (e.g., the vehicle battery). The microcontroller switches the NFC circuit to card emulation (CE) mode with energy harvesting capability when the battery voltage falls below a threshold so that the NFC circuit can harvest energy from a nearby Qi wireless charging field and store that harvested energy in an energy storage device. When the energy storage device is sufficiently charged, it is used power the microcontroller and an electronically actuated mechanical lock (e.g., vehicle door lock), then the microcontroller cooperates with the NFC circuit to switch the NFC circuit to NFC reader mode and attempt to verify a nearby NFC device. If the NFC device is verified, the microcontroller operates the lock, otherwise, it maintains the lock in an inactive state.

A system for controlling an electronic lock of a remote device is disclosed. The system includes an input unit configured to receive a user code. The system includes a lock controller connected to the input unit and configured to transmit the user code to a power distribution unit. The system includes a memory configured to store a user access table of user codes associated with users having access to the remote device. The power distribution unit is configured to determine whether the user code is in the user access table. The power distribution unit is configured to communicate, to the lock controller, an indication to unlock the electronic lock when the user code is in the table of user codes.

The embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a method and system for controlling a device. The device control method includes: determining one or more sets, wherein the one or more sets include one or more preset rules each of which corresponds to a set of the one or more sets; including a first device into a first set of the one or more sets based on information of the first device; and controlling the first device in the first set to perform a corresponding operation according to a preset rule corresponding to the first set.

Rental property management technology, in which reservation data is accessed on a rental property management server, and a request from a mobile device for an upcoming reservation at a property is detected. In response to detecting the request, the rental property management server confirms the upcoming reservation based on the accessed reservation data. In response to confirming the upcoming reservation, the reservation management server generates a unique access code. The rental property management server transmits the unique access code to the mobile device and to a monitoring system on the property. The rental property management server also transmits data to the monitoring system indicating that the unique access code grants access to the property.

Rental property management technology, in which reservation data is accessed on a rental property management server, and a request from a mobile device for an upcoming reservation at a property is detected. In response to detecting the request, the rental property management server confirms the upcoming reservation based on the accessed reservation data. In response to confirming the upcoming reservation, the reservation management server generates a unique access code. The rental property management server transmits the unique access code to the mobile device and to a monitoring system on the property. The rental property management server also transmits data to the monitoring system indicating that the unique access code grants access to the property.
