The touchpad is operable to discern a plurality of different gestures. Each gesture corresponds to a different signal being sent by the transceiver.

The electronic lock may include a bolt driven by a motor between a locked or extended position and an unlocked or retracted position. The bolt may be coupled to a sled, the sled moved by the motor between a forward position, placing the bolt in the locked position, and a rearward position, placing the bolt in the unlocked position. The motor may drive a drive screw to move the sled.

An electronic key having the following features. The electronic key has a key housing and a switch housing in the key housing. The switch housing has an inherently rigid frame having at least one first breakout, and a flexibly deformable membrane which is arranged on the frame in order to close the at least one breakout and to forward a force having effect from the outside on the membrane in the region of the breakout to an electrical switch element arranged within the frame. An electronic key having the required amount of stiffness is thus created, in which sensitive electronic components located therein are also protected from environmental influences. If the deformable membrane is not only used for button-related functions, but also for forming an ejection section for an emergency key or as a rattle protection for the emergency key, a multifunctional switch housing can thus be created simply.

MANAGING MEDICATIONS AT THE BEDSIDE

A medication dispensing cabinet includes one or more lockable compartments, each containing medication, and a biometric input device at least partially disposed within and recessed below a surface of a medication dispensing cabinet. A compartment containing the medication is unlocked when an authorized biometric input is received by the biometric input device. The medication dispensing cabinet may verify that the user attempting access to the medication is authorized to dispense the medication before unlocking the compartment.

A lock button status indicator for use with a key fob having depressable lock and unlock buttons for remotely activating a locking/unlocking mechanism communicating with a door, such as a vehicle door. The lock button status indicator has a cross member extending over the lock button in a first position and extending over the unlock button in a second position. Means are provided for allowing the lock button status indicator to be manually moved back and forth between the first position and the second position. Means are provided for releasably retaining the lock button status indicator member in either the first or second position.

An example lock apparatus generally includes a housing, a latch spindle, a drive spindle, an electronic lock mechanism, and an override mechanism. The latch spindle is mounted for rotation relative to the housing, and is operable to actuate a latch mechanism. The drive spindle is mounted for rotation relative to the housing. The electronic lock mechanism is disposed in the housing, and is operable to selectively couple the drive spindle with the latch spindle. The override mechanism is disposed in the drive spindle, and is operable to selectively couple the drive spindle with the latch spindle.

Housing device and system

There is provided a housing device configured to store an electronic key configured to perform wireless communication with an in-vehicle device, the housing device comprising: a housing formed by using a material that shields a first signal of a first frequency band transmitted by the in-vehicle device; a trigger signal reception antenna configured to receive a trigger signal transmitted by a portable device; and an actuator disposed inside the housing, and configured to operate an operation section installed in the electronic key based on the trigger signal, wherein the housing includes a passage structure that allows a second signal of a second frequency band to pass outside, the second signal being transmitted by the electronic key, and having a shorter wavelength than a wavelength of the first signal, and the second signal is used to control a control target device installed in the vehicle.

A key for a security device is provided. The key may include an electronic component configured to communicate with one or more security devices to initially receive one or more codes associated with each of the security devices. The key may also include a memory configured to store the one or more codes associated with the one or more security devices. The electronic component is configured to communicate with each of the one or more security devices for arming and/or disarming the security devices upon a matching of the code stored by the memory with the code associated with the security device.

AUTOMATED SMART STORAGE OF PRODUCTS

Automated, environmentally monitored and controlled storage units and systems for storing, monitoring, and maintaining a supply of products, particularly temperature sensitive pharmaceutical and/or other high-value products, be they temperature sensitive or not. Such automated storage units contain an array of independently addressable holding locations for containers with product in one or more environmentally monitored (e.g., for temperature, humidity, etc.) and controlled zones fitted with appropriate environmental sensors. In preferred embodiments, the automated storage units also include a reader to track product information and status. Product loading, retrieval, and movement within such automated storage units is performed by a computer-controlled robot. A user interface device, preferably in communication with an application service provider to provide remotely managed inventory management and other services, provides users with inventory- and product-specific information.
