Regional lock-state control system with people locator capability
A lock-state control system comprises a control arrangement, mobile devices, and lock assemblies. The control arrangement includes a status module, a locator module, a control module, and at least one processor configured to execute the modules. The devices each include a device module and a processor configured to execute the modules. The assemblies are adapted to move between locked and unlocked states as commanded by the control module in response to an event. The status module is configured to send a notification to each one of the devices upon the event, thereby initiating the device module to scan for advertisements transmitted by a each respective one of the assemblies when placed in one of the locked and unlocked states.
NON-INTRUSIVE DIAL ROTATION DETECTION OF HIGH SECURITY LOCKS
A rotation detection system for detecting the rotation of a lock dial includes a magnet coupled to the lock dial to generate a changing magnetic field in response to rotation of the lock dial, a sensor disposed near enough to the magnet to detect the magnetic field and provide a sensor output signal indicative of the magnetic field, and a controller coupled to the sensor for receiving the sensor output signal, the controller providing a controller output signal in response to a change in the sensor output signal. An alarm interface can receive the controller output signal and provide an alarm signal.
ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PERSISTENT DISPLAY
An electronic entry device such as a door lock includes a display that uses substantially no power when a static image is presented. Such a display can be “always on” and be used to display information to users of the entry device on a continuous basis. In some embodiments, the persistent display is an e-ink display. In some embodiments, the persistent display may present a scannable code, such as a QR code, that is statically displayed on the persistent display when a new product is unboxed. The persistent display can also present weather, news, scheduling, or other information.
Computing device as a vehicle key
In general, aspects of this disclosure are directed towards techniques for using a computing device to perform the functionality of a vehicle key, so that the computing device may be used to automatically unlock the doors of a vehicle and/or to activate a previously-deactivated keyless ignition system. The computing device may be associated with a vehicle, including sending an identifier associated with the computing device to the vehicle via short-range communication. The computing device may also send to the vehicle, via short-range communication, at least one unlock door signal including an access code verifiable by the vehicle, and wherein receipt of the at least one unlock door signal by the vehicle enables the vehicle to unlock one or more of its doors without further user intervention.

A face authentication apparatus includes a face image acquisition unit that acquires a face image of a user who passes through a first gate provided at a first boundary between zones, a collation unit that performs face authentication on the face image on the basis of a threshold, an operating state acquisition unit that acquires an operating state of a second gate provided at a second boundary that is different from the first boundary, and a threshold change unit that changes the threshold on the basis of the operating state of the second gate.
Electromechanical locking apparatus and method and apparatus for controlling the same in a real property monitoring and control system
A hinged object, such as a door, window, gate, lid, etc., comprises a first hinge, a second hinge, and an electromechanical locking device mounted on or in the hinged object. A first electrical wire is embedded in the hinged object that couples the electromechanical locking device to the first hinge, the first hinge to couple to a low-voltage power source to supply low-voltage electrical current to the electromechanical locking device via the first electrical wire. A second wire is embedded in the hinged object that couples the electromechanical locking device to the second hinge, the second hinge to couple to the low-voltage power supply to return low-voltage electrical current from the electromechanical locking device to the low-voltage power supply via the second electrical wire.
ELECTRONIC LOCKBOX
An electronic lockbox uses a rotary actuator with multiple positions to achieve multiple locking states. Multiple positions of the actuator are detected, using optical sensors. The locking mechanism includes an outer sleeve and an inner cylindrical barrel that are coupled with torsion springs. The lockbox has a shackle and a key bin that are retained by the inner barrel when in the locked state, and the barrel can be rotated to either release the shackle or to release the key bin that typically holds a building's key.

Systems and methods for controlling a plurality of devices in a home automation system may include providing a device proxy for a device connected to the home automation system and setting a new value in a value box of the device proxy, whereby the value box corresponds to at least one of a sensor, control, and metadata of the device. The systems and methods may further include determining one or more rules associated with the device proxy and running the determined one or more rules, whereby the determined one or more rules are indicative of interactive relationships between the device proxy and one or more other device proxies corresponding to one or more other devices connected to the home automation system.

An electronic access control system and method that enables conditional access to electronic locking systems according to user-based and situation-based safety parameters. Aspects of the present disclosure provide for a mobile access interface whereby the network operations center can assess a safety risk for a service site based on a combination of user-generated inputs, sensor inputs and/or external data inputs. The system may comprise a dynamic rules engine configured to dynamically determine safety and compliance associated with an access-restricted area. If the access-restricted area is safe, the system may enable access according to one or more access protocols. If the access-restricted area is unsafe, or the user requesting access is not in compliance with one or more static or dynamic safety parameters, the system may disable standard access protocols and deny access to the requesting party.
