MONEY PROCESSING APPARATUS
A money processing apparatus includes: a coin sorter configured to sort a received coin by denominations; coin storages each provided for each denomination, each of the coin storages being configured to store the coin sorted by the coin sorter and deliver the coin in accordance with a payment instruction; a conveyor configured to convey coins one by one such that the coins do not overlap with each other; and a count detector configured to detect the number of coins conveyed by the conveyor, wherein a passing speed of the coin in a detection area of the count detector is greater than a passing speed of the coin immediately before the detection area of the count detector.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MONEY ITEM PROCESSING
Described herein is a method comprising performing optical character recognition on at least one region of a display screen to determine at least one displayed character; identifying, from the determined at least one displayed character, a monetary value to be dispensed; and in response to identifying the monetary value to be dispensed, causing to be dispensed at least one money item corresponding to the identified monetary value. Further described is a method comprising determining, using at least one money item denominating apparatus, a monetary value of at least one received money item; in response to determining the monetary value, automatically providing at least one simulated user input to the interactive user interface indicative of the determined monetary value.

Coin validation device
A coin validation device that is implemented in a coin handling machine which stores therein a deposited coin on a denomination-by-denomination basis and which pays out stored coin in response to a disbursement instruction, the coin validation device, includes: a carrier that carries the deposited coin in a horizontally-fallen state in one direction; and a discriminator that identifies authenticity and denominations of the coin carried in the one direction by the carrier. Further, the carrier carries a coin, which is discriminated as a counterfeit coin by the discriminator, in another direction opposite to the one direction.
