HEATED OR COOLED DISHWARE AND DRINKWARE
An actively heated mug, travel mug, baby bottle, water bottle or liquid container is provided. The mug, travel mug, baby bottle, water bottle or liquid container can include a body that receives a liquid therein and a heating or cooling system at least partially disposed in the body. The heating or cooling system can include one or more heating or cooling elements that heat a surface of the receiving portion of the body and one or more energy storage devices. The mug, travel mug, baby bottle, water bottle or liquid container can include a wireless power receiver that wirelessly receives power from a power source and control circuitry configured to charge one or more power storage elements and to control the delivery of electricity from the one or more power storage elements to the one or more heating or cooling elements. The mug, travel mug, baby bottle, water bottle or liquid container also can have one or more sensors that sense a parameter of the liquid or sense a parameter of the heating or cooling system and communicates the sensed information to the control circuitry. The control circuitry can turn on, turn off, and/or operate the heating or cooling element to actively heat or cool at least a portion of the body to maintain the liquid in a heated or cooled state generally at a user selected temperature setting based at least in part on the sensed parameter information. The mug, travel mug, baby bottle, water bottle or liquid container can also be paired with a remote device or mobile electronic device to send or receive communications or commands.
Beverage preparation machine capable of determining a beverage volume of receptacles and corresponding method
A beverage preparation machine includes first and second cameras for capturing first and second images of a receptacle. The beverage preparation machine further includes a control unit configured to determine a receptacle volume based on the first and second images and to determine a beverage volume to be dispensed based on the receptacle volume and the selected filling level or percentage. Regardless of the shape, volume, and/or material of the receptacle, the filling level or percentage for dispensing the beverage can be freely selected via a user interface.
Milk level measurement device and related measurement method
A device arranged for measuring a level of a liquid in a container. The device has a sensor, arranged to sense a pressure of a liquid in a tube, a pump arranged to pump the liquid from the container through the tube, and a valve located along the tube between the sensor and the pump and arranged to impede back flow of the liquid into the container when the pump stops pumping the liquid. The device is arranged to measure the level of the liquid into the container on the basis of the hydrostatic pressure measured by the sensor after each stop of the pump. Also disclosed is a method for measuring a level of a liquid in a container by a pressure sensor.
DRINKWARE CONTAINER WITH ACTIVE TEMPERATURE CONTROL
An actively heated drinkware container includes a vessel with a chamber that receives and holds a volume of liquid. The drinkware container includes a heating module with a first heating element operable to heat one portion of the chamber and a second heating element operable to heat another portion of the chamber, the second heating element spaced from the first heating element. Operation of the first and second heating elements generates a circulation current in the volume of liquid in the chamber that mixes the liquid and diffuses a temperature of the liquid to thereby reduce temperature stratification of the liquid in the chamber and so that a temperature of the liquid throughout the volume of liquid in the chamber is approximately uniform.

A beverage preparation machine includes first and second cameras for capturing first and second images of a receptacle. The beverage preparation machine further includes a control unit configured to determine a receptacle volume based on the first and second images and to determine a beverage volume to be dispensed based on the receptacle volume and the selected filling level or percentage. An actively heated or cooled food container can have a lid movable between an open and a closed position and an insulated body to which the lid can be attached. The insulated body can have a sidewall that defines a perimeter of the container body and a base, the sidewall and base defining one or more chambers that can be sealed by the lid. The food container can have a temperature control system that can include one or more heating or cooling elements in thermal communication with one or both of the sidewall and the base and operable to heat or cool one or both of the sidewall and the base to thereby heat or cool the one or more chambers in the food container.

Additionally the drain connector unit (13) comprises a drain channel (15). The drain channel (15) extends through the housing (23) for guiding liquid waste there through from a leak receptacle (5) of the dispensing device (3), to the drain container (17). The drain connector unit (13) further also comprises at least a first aroma barrier (29) interposed between a first opening (25) and a second opening (27) in the housing (23). The first opening (25) is arranged for interacting with a headspace of the drain container (17) and the second opening (27) is arranged for interacting with a gas atmosphere outside of the drain container (17).
DRINKWARE WITH ACTIVE TEMPERATURE CONTROL
An actively heated mug has a body with a chamber that can receive and hold a beverage and a heating element to actively heat the chamber, batteries, and circuitry that controls the operation of the heating element. A user interface is electrically connected to the circuitry and has one or more buttons actuatable a) to turn on the heating element, b) to adjust a temperature setting to one of multiple temperature settings to control the operation of the heating element to heat or maintain the liquid at a user selected temperature setting, and c) to turn off the heating element.

A beverage brewer includes a pump assembly, a flow channel, and a brewing material holder assembly. The pump assembly has an inlet port and is operable to provide negative fluid pressure at the inlet port. The flow channel is arranged for fluid communication with the intake port of the pump assembly. The brewing material holder assembly is configured to hold ground brewing material and is arranged to receive and provide fluid through the flow channel. The pump assembly is configured to draw liquid through the flow channel into the brewing material holder assembly when actuated, thereby brewing a beverage in the brewing material holder assembly when the brewing material holder assembly holds ground brewing material. The flow 10 channel is arranged to receive the liquid from the brewing material holder assembly when the pump assembly is de-actuated.

A dispensing and drainage assembly 1 and a drainage connector unit 13 for drainage of liquid waste of beverage dispensing devices. The drain connector unit 13 comprises a housing 23 for cooperating with an opening to the drain container 17 for collecting liquid waste from a dispensing device. Additionally the drain connector unit 13 comprises a drain channel 15. The drain channel 15 extends through the housing 23 for guiding liquid waste there through from a leak receptacle 5 of the dispensing device 3, to the drain container 17. The drain connector unit 13 further also comprises at least a first aroma barrier 29 interposed between a first opening 25 and a second opening 27 in the housing 23. The first opening 25 is arranged for interacting with a headspace of the drain container 17 and the second opening 27 is arranged for interacting with a gas atmosphere outside of the drain container 17.
