Item validation and image evaluation system
Systems for item validation and image evaluation are provided. In some examples, a system may receive an instrument and associated data. The instrument may be received and a user profile may be retrieved. The user profile may include a plurality of previously processed instruments that have been determined to be valid and/or authentic. The instrument may be compared to the plurality of previously processed instruments to determine whether one or more elements of the instrument being evaluated match one or more corresponding elements of the plurality of previously processed instruments. Matching or non-matching elements may be identified. In some examples, one or more user interfaces may be generated displaying the instruments and including any highlighting or enhancements identifying matching or non-matching elements.
INFORMATION CARD OBJECT COUNTER
The apparatus may include a microprocessor. In electronic communication with the microprocessor there may be a memory cell. In electronic communication with the microprocessor there may be a light source circuit. In electronic communication with the microprocessor there may be a camera circuit. In electronic communication with the microprocessor there may be a nano light-emitting diode display circuit. Stored in the memory cell there may be image-processing instructions. Stored in the memory cell there may be light-source control instructions. The memory cell; the light source circuit; the camera circuit; and the nano light-emitting diode display circuit may be embedded in an information card. The instructions may be configured to cause the microprocessor to count objects set in motion by a user. The motion may be a motion of manually flicked objects.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CHECKING VALUE DOCUMENTS, AND METHOD AND DEVICE FOR GENERATING CHECKING PARAMETERS FOR USE IN A METHOD FOR CHECKING VALUE DOCUMENTS
A method is for generating element templates for forming templates when checking value documents of a specified value document type having at least two specified manufacturing elements, which, where applicable, partially overlap each other, and the element templates correspond to the manufacturing elements. Digital training images of training value documents of the specified value document type and a digital reference image of a reference value document of the specified value document type are used, which each have pixels to which pixel data are respectively assigned.
Counterfeit detection in bright environment
The invention describes a method (100) for counterfeit detection using a portable device (1) with installed counterfeit detection application, to a data carrier (30) comprising this counterfeit detection application, to the portable device (1) used in this method and to a cover (50) comprising guiding structures to perform this method comprising the steps of taking multiple overlapping pictures (110) from at least a portion of the object (10) with the camera (2) of the portable device (1) positioned in front of the object (10) during relatively moving (RM) the portable device with respect to and (1) along the object (10); combining (120) all taken pictures to a single combined image of at least the portion of the object (10) with increased resolution by the counterfeit detection application (4) executed on the portable device (1); applying image processing (130) to the combined image by the counterfeit detection application (4) providing an improved image with improved properties compared to the combined image to order to visualize or enhance the hidden features of the object (10) comprising an increased contrast in the infrared and/or ultraviolet wavelength range being transmitted by the adapted band pass filter (3); and comparing (140) the improved image with the visualized or enhanced hidden features of the object (10) with a reference image of the object (10) comprising the hidden features by the counterfeit detection application (4) to provide (200) an authentication result for the performed counterfeit detection.
Method of verifying an authenticity of a printed item and data processing terminal
A method of verifying an authenticity of a printed item includes: photographing the printed item to obtain a photographic image of the printed item, retrieving reference data of the printed item, the reference data including a reference image of the printed item, determining a test noise parameter from the photographic image of the printed item, determining a reference noise parameter from the reference image, comparing the test noise parameter of the photographic image of the printed item to the reference noise parameter of the reference image, and determining an authenticity of the printed item from a result of the comparing. The determining the authenticity of the printed item from the result of the comparing may include establishing from the reference noise parameter of the reference image and the test noise parameter of the printed item.

Generating a unique code from orientation information
In a general aspect, orientation information is used to generate a unique code. In some aspects, orientation information is extracted from an object. The object includes multiple elements, and the orientation information indicates the relative spatial orientations of the respective elements. The orientation information can be extracted, for instance, by a scanner system that detects the elements. A unique code is generated for the object based on the orientation information. In some examples, the elements are diamond particles that each have one or more color centers, and the orientation information is extracted by detecting the color centers.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR COMPARING IMAGES
A method of determining whether a user of a mobile device corresponds to a previously authenticated user. The method comprises: acquiring a first image from the identity document, the first image being a photographic image and or a digital image; causing a camera connected to or integral with the mobile device to capture a second image, the second image corresponding to a user of the mobile device; comparing data indicative of the first image and data indicative of the second image, whereby to determine whether the first image and the second image represent the same user; and responsive to determining that the first image and the second image represent the same user, forming an association between the previously authenticated user and the mobile device.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DETECTING ATM FRAUD VIA COUNTING NOTES
Systems and methods for ATM fraud detection are presented. ATM fraud detection may be provided in the context of including a currency sensor in the ATM to count currency notes. ATM fraud detection may be obtained by using a currency sensor, such as a scanner, to image and count any currency notes that remain after being dispensed to a user, and determining if the count is correct for the currency notes dispensed. A count discrepancy resulting from removal of some but not all dispensed currency notes would indicate attempted theft or fraud.
