SENSOR FOR VERIFYING VALUE DOCUMENTS
A sensor for verifying value documents and designed to determine the luminescence time constant of a value document that is moved past the sensor for verification purposes, and the provision of a velocity correction of the luminescence time constant of the value document in the sensor. The relative movement between the value document and the sensor causes movement effects, resulting in a distortion of the intensity curve from which the luminescence time constant is derived. The luminescence time constant is corrected using a sensor-specific corrective factor ascertained for the velocity of the movement of the value document during the verification process. For this purpose, different sensor-specific corrective factors are used for different examples of sensors that are nominally identical in design and are part of the same sensor production series.

The banknote processing method includes: scanning a substrate through the image acquisition module while acquiring banknote image data through an image acquisition module to obtain substrate image data; acquiring a characteristic value of the substrate image data; calculating a change value of the characteristic value of the substrate image data relative to a reference characteristic value; judging whether the change value is greater than a preset threshold value; and configuring parameters of the image acquisition module if it is judged that the change value is greater than the threshold value.

Method for providing measurement data of a device for processing security documents and security-document processing device
Described is a method for providing measurement data for value documents to a specified purpose of use employing a value-document processing device which has a transport device for transporting the value documents, and a sensor device for capturing at least one property of value documents transported in the value-document processing apparatus by means of the transport device and forming measurement data describing the captured property, in which value documents are transported to the sensor device by means of the transport device and measurement data for these are respectively captured by means of the sensor device, it is tested whether the measurement data for the value documents meet a suitability criterion specified for the purpose of use, and measurement data for respectively one of the value documents either are permanently stored or discarded in dependence on the result of the testing.
SENSOR FOR VERIFYING THE LUMINESCENCE OF VALUE DOCUMENTS
A sensor for verifying value documents is designed to determine a luminescence characteristic of a value document that is moved past the sensor for verification purposes, and the provision of a velocity correction of the luminescence characteristic of the value document in the sensor, resulting in a distortion of the measured luminescence intensities. A reference sensor is used to determine an average velocity dependency of the luminescence characteristic of a reference medium, said average velocity dependency being averaged over both opposite directions of movement and being used to determine a velocity dependency of a corrective factor for the luminescence characteristic. Said determined velocity dependency is used to determine the corrective factor for the luminescence characteristic, said corrective factor applying to the velocity of the movement of the value document during the verification process, and the luminescence characteristic is then corrected by said corrective factor.

Described is a device for examining value documents and/or the transport of value documents which are transported along a specified transport path in a specified transport direction, by means of ultrasound with ultrasound transmitters disposed offset in a direction transverse to the transport direction for emitting, upon transmit signals, ultrasound on the transport path and ultrasound receivers disposed offset in a direction transverse to the transport direction for receiving ultrasound which is generated by means of the ultrasound transmitters, and for emitting receive signals, the ultrasound transmitters and/or ultrasound receivers respectively having at least one capacitive, micromechanical ultrasonic transducer.
MAGNETIC DETECTION APPARATUS
One object is to correct with a high accuracy a plurality of magnetic sensors arranged inside a small magnetic detection apparatus. The magnetic detection apparatus that detects magnetism of a paper sheet being transported includes a plurality of magnetic sensors arranged in a linear manner in a direction orthogonal to a transport direction of the paper sheet; an excitation member having a plate-shape that extends in an arrangement direction of the plurality of magnetic sensors; and a control unit that generates a calibration magnetic field by passing an electric current in the arrangement direction through the excitation member, and obtains a correction value for correcting variation in sensitivity of the plurality of magnetic sensors based on detection results of the calibration magnetic field detected by the plurality of magnetic sensors.
Method and device for examining value documents for irregularities
A means and method for checking a value document of at least one irregularity of at least one specified type, in which an ultrasound data record is captured which describes in locally resolved fashion at least one ultrasound property, a deviation data record is ascertained which describes in locally resolved fashion a deviation between the ultrasound data record and a model and is ascertained such that the deviation described thereby is minimal with respect to the model. The model comprises a model for the location dependence of the at least one ultrasound property of reference value documents of the specified value document type without irregularities of the at least one specified type, and using the deviation data record, it is checked whether an indication of an irregularity of the at least one type is present on the value document.
