The tap valve is configured to control dispensing through an outlet path. The restrictor is within the outlet path of the tap assembly and is configured to accelerate a flow of beverage to a turbulent flow. The flow straightener is within the outlet path of the tap assembly, downstream of the restrictor, and is configured to recombine, slow, and straighten the flow of beverage.

The invention relates to an arrangement comprising a coffee machine (100) and a coffee grinder (200), wherein said coffee machine is able to prepare a plurality of different coffee-based drinks according to several recipes. In order to avoid errors when preparing a specific recipe, the coffee machine (100) comprises a plurality of brewing groups and a corresponding plurality of filter holder assemblies (1), and at least one filter holder assembly (1)—preferably each filter holder assembly (1)—comprises an electronics (11) equipped with a memory (15), in which the parameters of one or more of said recipes are stored, and with communication devices (13) that allow said filter holder group to communicate on one hand with the electronics (101) of the coffee machine (100) and, on the other hand, to communicate with the electronics (201) of the coffee grinder (200), whereby said filter holder assembly communicates to each device the data necessary for preparing the selected recipe.

An apparatus and a method for cold brewing beverages are provided. The apparatus comprises a container and at least one insert arranged in the container. The insert may either be a filter for holding brewing material or a receptacle for holding cooling material. A liquid like water filled in the container is pumped through a conduit into the insert and is then returned to the container, from where it may be pumped again to the insert. Thus a cycle for brewing and cooling a beverage is provided, depending on whether the insert is a filter for holding brewing material or a receptacle for holding cooling material, thereby considerably reducing the time required to produce a cold-brewed beverage.

A coffee holder includes a holder body and a holder lid. The holder body includes a holder base, a holder sidewall extending from the base and defining an interior configured to receive loose coffee, and an open receiving end opposite the base. The holder lid is configured to engage the holder body to cover the open receiving end.
