A coffee maker comprises a body and a brewing device, the body comprises an abutting portion, and the brewing device comprises a receiving apparatus and a top lid movably assembled on the receiving apparatus. The receiving apparatus is provided with a receiving chamber. The top lid is located above the receiving chamber. The brewing device is movable so that the top lid can be switched between a closed state and an opened state. When the brewing device is moved to a position near the body, the abutting portion abuts the top lid so that the top lid is switched to the closed state. When the brewing device is moved forward to a position away from the body, the top lid is disengaged from the abutting portion and the top lid is automatically switched to the opened state without having to be manually raised, thus enabling convenient operation.

A brewing system comprises a grinder, a brewer, a capsule holder, and a controller. The grinder is configured to grind whole coffee beans into coffee grounds with adjustable coarseness. The grinder is configured to receive the whole coffee beans through a first opening above the grinder and dispense the coffee grounds through a second opening below the grinder. The brewer is configured to dispense water for brewing coffee through a third opening below the brewer, wherein the brewer is positioned laterally relative to the grinder. The capsule dock is configured to (a) hold a capsule containing a coffee filter and (b) translate the capsule from a first position under the second opening of the grinder to a second position under the third opening below the brewer. The controller is configured to control the grinder, brewer, and capsule dock.

An apparatus for infusing a liquid that may be espresso, generally provides a body having a gear box at one end portion of the body, a lead screw and a hand crank mechanically communicating with the gearbox, and a valve body and plunger carried at an end portion of the lead screw opposite the gearbox for axial, and non-rotational, movement within a medial chamber defined by an insulated pressure cylinder, the pressure cylinder releasably engaged with a removable a portafilter frame, opposite the gearbox, that carries a removable particulate basket therein, and a carafe releasably engaged with the porta filter frame opposite the pressure cylinder, and a tamper for compressing particulate in the particulate basket.

A first coffee brewing and dispensing system that includes a removable grounds chamber assembly that includes a basin for holding ground coffee, an extendable dispensing spout, and a valve mechanism for opening and closing the dispensing spout; a brewing chamber assembly positioned on top of the removable grounds chamber assembly; and a lid/plunger assembly adapted to be inserted into the brewing chamber and removable grounds chamber, wherein the lid/plunger assembly includes a press rod, a handle mounted on the press rod, wherein the handle includes a trigger mounted therein, a lid mounted on the press rod below the handle, a wiper assembly mounted on the press rod below the lid; and a filter assembly mounted on the press rod below the wiper assembly, wherein the wiper assembly may be moved independently of the filter assembly by actuating the trigger in the handle.

A beverage brewing system having, inter alia, a brew hopper, a hydraulic siphoning component affixed thereto and a solenoid-actuated door switch mechanism. The beverage brewing system includes a hydraulic siphoning component configured to allow hot water to bloom and steep for a controlled amount of time in a brew hopper. The beverage brewing system further includes a brew-hopper agitation mechanism.

A beverage system is provided including a housing and a brew basket body connected to said housing. The brew basket body is movable between a retracted position and an extended position. When said brew basket body is in said retracted position, said brew basket body is arranged in sealing contact with an adjacent component of said beverage system.

A compact brewing assembly and method is described. The compact brewing assembly includes a vessel, a filter component, an exterior sleeve and a cap. The vessel includes a vessel top and a vessel bottom, wherein the vessel top includes a fastening component. The filter component is removably coupled to the fastening component of the vessel top. The exterior sleeve includes a top exterior sleeve and a bottom exterior sleeve slidably coupled to the filter component. The cap is removably coupled to the top exterior sleeve.

An improved system for cold-brewing coffee is disclosed. The system includes a first container for containing and steeping ground coffee beans in water and a second container for collecting coffee bean extract. The improvement comprises a closure, a pump, a sleeve, and a tube. The closure includes a first housing configured to removably secure the first container to the first housing and a second housing configured to removably secure the second container to the second housing. The pump has an inlet and an outlet. The sleeve, unitary with the first housing, defines an interior region into which the pump is received and an exterior surface extension in fluid communication with the pump outlet. The tube has opposite end portions. One of the end portions of the tube is removably secured to the sleeve exterior surface extension. The first and second housings are removably joined together.

A system includes: a water reservoir configured to store water; a brew chamber extending below and contiguous with the water reservoir; a piston configured to run in the brew chamber, defining a base of the water reservoir, defining a port extending between the water reservoir and the brew chamber, and including a valve coupled to the fill port and operable in a) a closed position during downward advancement of the piston and b) an open position during upward retraction of the piston; a heating element configured to heat water occupying the brew assembly; and an actuator configured to retract the piston to transfer water from the water reservoir, through piston via the port, and into the brew chamber and to advance the piston by a target piston travel distance—corresponding to a piston swept volume that yields a target brew volume—to displace liquid from the brew chamber.

A coffee machine includes: a filter holder suitable for containing at least one coffee dose; a dispensing unit with dispensing nozzles suitable for sending a flow of hot water on the coffee dose; a water system provided with a pump to supply pressurized water towards the dispensing nozzles; a heater to heat the water to be supplied to the dispensing nozzles; a dispensing valve to enable/disable the supply of hot water towards the dispensing nozzles; a pre-infusion valve installed upstream the dispensing valve; and a control unit comprising actuation means to actuate the pre-infusion valve. The pre-infusion valve is a two-way electrovalve of programmable proportional type.
