A graphical user interface (GUI) and operator console management system for a distributed terminal network is described. In some embodiments, the terminals may be hardware terminals, kiosks, or clients. In some embodiments, a security analysis may be performed, and security scores may be determined, for visitors requesting operations at terminals based on an operator configuration. Security scores may be determined by a provider, in communication with the operator terminals, based on aggregation of a plurality of factors, wherein each factor may be weighted. The factors may incorporate operator settings or preferences. In one embodiment, the factors include one or more facial recognition factors. The one or more facial recognition factors may be used for biometric authentication. The provider may use the security scores to determine user privileges or permissions for the operations. The provider may deliver instructions or messages to the terminals based on the determinations.

A money processing apparatus includes: a first circuit board that is placed in a safe and integrally controls the money processing apparatus; and a second circuit board that is placed in the safe and communicates with the first circuit board and a computer outside the money processing apparatus.

A bill processing apparatus which is capable of reliably supplying information on a bill to the bill housing body side. The paper sheet processing apparatus has a bill housing part being capable of housing a bill inserted from a bill insertion slot, and also a reader/writer which wirelessly transmits information on the bill inserted from the bill insertion slot. The bill housing part has a coil antenna which wirelessly receives the information transmitted from the reader/writer, and a storage part which stores the information on the bill received from the coil antenna.

A bill processing apparatus which is capable of reliably supplying information on a bill to the bill housing body side. The paper sheet processing apparatus has a bill housing part being capable of housing a bill inserted from a bill insertion slot, and also a reader/writer which wirelessly transmits information on the bill inserted from the bill insertion slot. The bill housing part has a coil antenna which wirelessly receives the information transmitted from the reader/writer, and a storage part which stores the information on the bill received from the coil antenna.

A money handling apparatus includes: a safe having a safe door; a plurality of drawers configured to be drawable from the safe when the safe door is opened, each drawer including one or a plurality of storage units configured to store money therein; at least one locking unit configured to restrict drawing-out of each drawer from the safe; and a control unit configured to control the at least one locking unit to put each drawer into either an unlocked state where drawing-out of the drawer is allowed or a locked state where drawing-out of the drawer is restricted.

An apparatus for connecting a data-processing and/or data-generating production apparatus with a network includes a first network interface to be connected with the network, a second network interface to be connected with the production apparatus, and a program code stored in the memory for execution by the at least one processor. The program code includes instructions upon whose execution data packets received at the second network interface via a second protocol are forwarded to the first network interface, and/or upon whose execution data packets received at the first network interface via a first protocol are forwarded to the second network interface and there are sent via a second protocol to the production apparatus. The program code includes instructions upon whose execution the at least one processor applies a packet filter to the data packets on the way between the network interfaces.

An apparatus for connecting a data-processing and/or data-generating production apparatus with a network includes a first network interface to be connected with the network, a second network interface to be connected with the production apparatus, and a program code stored in the memory for execution by the at least one processor. A system for performing secure maintenance on automated machines may include a maintenance management apparatus and an automated machine. The maintenance management apparatus is configured for scheduling the maintenance appointment for the automated machine, in response to scheduling the maintenance appointment and creating and communicating a maintenance security code to the automated machine. The automated machine is configured for receiving a request from a maintenance provider to initiate the maintenance appointment, validating the maintenance provider using the maintenance security code and providing access to a secure item storage unit, determining that the maintenance provider has completed the maintenance appointment, and communicating information associated with the maintenance appointment to the maintenance management apparatus and/or a computing device of the maintenance provider.

A system for performing secure maintenance on automated machines may include a maintenance management apparatus and an automated machine. A money depositing and dispensing device includes a storing unit, a conveying unit, a power-supply operation unit, a power-supply control unit, and a display control unit. The storing unit stores money. The conveying unit conveys the money. The power-supply operation unit receives operation concerning a power supply of the money depositing and dispensing device. If the power-supply operation unit receives the operation, on condition that the money conveyed by the conveying unit is absent, the power-supply control unit turns off the conveying unit. On condition that the conveying unit is conveying the money, the display control unit causes a display unit to display an image indicating a reason for not turning off the conveying unit.
