A host device comprising an input/output (I/O) port, a first sensor, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising instructions stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to determine a cassette is docked with the host device, receive a transaction request requiring a specific denomination for dispensing, cause a picker system of the cassette to retrieve a target bill from a storage position of a bill storage component of the cassette based on the specific denomination for the transaction request and a storage position for a bill matching the specific denomination where the cassette is configured to generate a bill list comprising bill information for each bill of the plurality of bills including a respective denomination and the storage position for each bill, and cause the I/O port to dispense the target bill.

Disclosed herein is a currency conversion and banknote suspension and reinstatement system and method. A user terminal captures a banknote monetary value of a banknote belonging to a user. A banknote server detaches the banknote monetary value from the banknote by converting the banknote monetary value to a digital monetary value. The use of the banknote is thereby suspended. A bank server credits a bank account of the user by the banknote monetary value. The banknote server restores the banknote monetary value to the banknote by reverse converting the digital monetary value to the banknote monetary value. The use of the banknote is thereby reinstated. The bank server debits the bank account of the user by the banknote monetary value.

The cassette includes a first sensor structured to detect a fill level of the cassette, a second sensor structured to detect a location of the cassette, and memory having stored thereon instructions that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to receive, at one or more time intervals, data from the first sensor indicating the fill level of the cassette, transmit the location of the cassette and an indication of the fill level of the cassette to a remote computing device, and in response to determining that the fill level of the cassette is outside of a threshold value, transmit a notification to the remote computing device.

A method and a value document processing system for processing value documents include: ascertaining first identification data by means of which the value documents contained in a plurality of different batches can be identified, in at least one value document processing device; generating assignment data; transmitting the first identification data to an external computing device; comparing the transmitted first identification data with specified second identification data by means of which value documents can be identified that are to be removed from circulation and/or are to remain in circulation; and, if the comparison indicates that at least one value document that is to be removed from circulation is contained in the value documents, identifying the batch in which the at least one value document is contained that is to be removed from circulation; and sorting the value documents.
