A payment card made from rigid plastic, PVC, PET, Styrene, Polypropylene, Tyvek, or other synthetic material, that conforms to ISO 7810 ID-Type 1 form factor, with an embedded passive High Frequency (HF) NFC chip that supports NFC Data Exchange Format (NDEF) encoding. The card has an assigned credit, debit, or prepaid debit account number, is capable of being used for payment of goods or services with the account number imaged on the surface of the card using inkjet, thermal transfer, laser, or other commercially available variable imaging process. The embedded HF NFC chip is linked to the card's payment account number in a remotely hosted database with an association being made to the card's Unique Identification Number (UID), or another unique identifying element encoded into the chip's memory. The embedded HF chip is encoded using NFC Data Exchange Format (NDEF), is encoded to deliver an executable code that directs the cardholder's smartphone, tablet, or other NFC enabled device, to a specific website or app that contains content restricted from general audiences and that is only accessible by said smartphone, tablet, or similar NFC enabled device in the presence of a card designated by the issuer to have access to the site's content only after validating the card has been purchased or received a credit through a qualifying load transaction.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR USING A BIOMETRIC PAYMENT DEVICE

Systems and methods are described related to using flexible circuitry in a payment device. In one embodiment, a payment device comprises a computing device and a memory. The computing device is configured to store a biometric identifier associated with a transaction account. The computing device is configured to at least receive, by the antenna, an interrogation signal from a point of sale (POS) device in order to activate the payment device for a payment transaction. The computing device is configured to determine a scanned fingerprint identifier of a user based at least in part on the interrogation signal activating the payment device and authenticate the scanned fingerprint identifier by matching the scanned fingerprint identifier to the biometric identifier. The transaction account is transmitted to the POS device for processing the payment transaction based at least in part on the authentication of the scanned fingerprint identifier.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CAPTURING VISIBLE INFORMATION
20190156176 · 2019-05-23 · ·

A transaction card construction and computer-implemented methods for a transaction card are described. The transaction card has vector-formatted visible information applied by a laser machining system. In some embodiments, systems and methods are disclosed for enabling the sourcing of visible information using a scalable vector format. The systems and methods may receive a request to add visible information to a transaction card and capture an image of the visible information. The systems and methods may capture data representing the image. The systems and methods may also determine an ambient color saturation of the image. Further, systems and methods may translate the image based on the ambient color saturation of the image. The systems and methods may also map the translated image to a bounding box and convert the mapped image into vector format. In addition, the systems and methods may provide the converted image to a laser machining system.

In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to a test card for use in automated testing of a POS terminal. In some embodiments, the test card comprises a substrate including at least one track, wherein the substrate is configured to interact with a magnetic card reader, an electrical contact configured to receive magnetic stripe data from a database, and an electrical trace, wherein the electrical trace is programmable with respect to the received magnetic stripe data, wherein the electrical trace forms a continuous conductive pathway, wherein the electrical trace forms a stair step configuration comprising a plurality of linear segments including a first set of linear segments and a second set of linear segments, wherein the second set of linear segments includes at least one segment, and wherein the at least one segment connects ones of the first set of linear segments.

DYNAMIC TRANSACTION CARD OPTIMIZATION
20190139027 · 2019-05-09 ·

The present disclosure relates to devices and methods relating to an optimized electronic transaction card where various data inputs associated with a dynamic transaction card optimize operational configurations and/or a user experience of the dynamic transaction card to extend an energy storage life of the dynamic transaction card, promote various behaviors, and/or detect system and/or device defects. A dynamic transaction card may include a dynamic transaction card with various configuration and/or functionality that use the power components (e.g., printed circuit board (PCB), energy storage component, battery, and/or the like) of the dynamic transaction card. The configuration and/or functionality data may include, for example, sensor input, connection data, transaction data, display data, and/or the like. The configuration and/or functionality data may then be used to determine optimal configuration settings.

Cards and devices with multifunction magnetic emulators and methods for using same

A payment card (e.g., credit and/or debit card) is provided with a magnetic emulator operable of communicating information to a magnetic stripe reader. Information used in validating a financial transaction is encrypted based on time such that a validating server requires receipt of the appropriate encrypted information for a period of time to validate a transaction for that period of time. Such dynamic information may be communicated using such an emulator such that a card may be swiped through a magnetic stripe readeryet communicate different information based on time. An emulator may receive information as well as communicate information to a variety of receivers (e.g., an RFID receiver).
