MACHINE FOR PREPARING BEVERAGES, IN PARTICULAR ESPRESSO COFFEE, AND VALVE AND VALVE UNIT FOR USE THEREIN
A machine (M) for preparing beverages, in particular espresso coffee, comprises a hydraulic circuit including: a brewing unit (1); a water tank (4); a pump (3) having the inlet connected in fluid communication to said tank (4) and the outlet or delivery connected in fluid communication to the brewing unit (1); a normally closed one-way hydraulic valve (10), set between the pump (3) and the brewing unit (1), for enabling a flow of water towards the brewing unit (1) when the pressure of the water delivered by the pump (3) exceeds a substantially predetermined threshold; heating means (9) for heating the water delivered by the pump (3); and a normally open discharge valve (12) having: a main inlet (12.sub.IN), connected between said one-way hydraulic valve (10) and the brewing unit (1); a main outlet (27a, 12.sub.OUT), connected towards a discharge space (11); an open/close member (29-31) set between the main inlet (12.sub.IN) and the main outlet (12.sub.OUT), designed to assume an open condition and a closed condition, where it enables and prevents, respectively, a flow of fluid between said inlet (12.sub.IN) and said outlet (12.sub.OUT), the open/close member (29-31) being urged by a corresponding spring (28) into the open condition. The discharge valve (12) is a hydraulically driven valve, which further comprises a chamber (26) for hydraulic driving of the open/close member (29-31), an auxiliary inlet (12.sub.DR-IN) of the driving chamber (26), connected to the delivery of the pump (3), and an auxiliary outlet (26a, 12.sub.DR-OUT) of the driving chamber (26), connected to the brewing unit (1), in such a way that water forced by the pump (3) passes through the driving chamber (26) before reaching the brewing unit (1). The discharge valve (12) moreover has a further outlet (26b, 25) of the driving chamber (26), connected in fluid communication to a device (22) for spillage of water from the driving chamber (26), in particular towards one of the water tank (4) and the inlet of the pump (3).
BEVERAGE PREPARATION MACHINE
A beverage preparation machine (1) is provided which comprises a main housing (2), a brew head (3) having an outlet (31) for discharging a prepared beverage, a water reservoir (4), and a water path for conveying water from the water reservoir to the brew head.
The water reservoir is movable with respect to the main housing between a storage configuration and a beverage dispensing configuration.
In one aspect of the disclosure the water reservoir (4) is non-removable from the main housing (2). In another aspect of the disclosure the water reservoir (4) is located laterally off-set from a midline of the main housing (2) in the beverage dispensing configuration so as to increase the overall width of the beverage preparation machine compared to the width in the storage configuration. In another aspect the water reservoir (4) comprises a dual-purpose lid (50; 50).
Systems for and methods of controlled liquid food or beverage product creation
Systems for and methods of controlling liquid food or beverage product creation are disclosed. A dispenser for producing a food or beverage liquid product from a frozen contents in a receptacle includes a chamber configured to hold the receptacle and a non-diluting heater configured to heat the receptacle and/or the frozen contents within the receptacle; the non-diluting heater does not add liquid to an interior of the receptacle. The dispenser also includes a reservoir configured to contain a liquid. The reservoir includes a reservoir outlet configured to withdraw liquid from the reservoir. The beverage dispenser further includes a product outlet configured to withdraw a food or beverage liquid product from the receptacle and a controller that causes the dispenser to selectively perform at least one of: heating at least one of the receptacle and the frozen contents using the non-diluting heater and withdrawing liquid from the reservoir through the reservoir outlet.
AUTOMATIC COFFEE MAKER AND METHOD OF BREWING COFFEE
Disclosed herein are methods and systems for brewing coffee. In one example, a method of brewing coffee includes delivering a predetermined amount of water from a reservoir to a heater, heating the predetermined amount of water with the heater to form heated water, delivering the predetermined amount of the heated water from the heater to a brew basket containing ground coffee, and soaking the ground coffee with the predetermined amount of the heated water for a predetermined period of time to enable the heated water delivered to the brew basket to presoak the ground coffee contained in brew basket prior delivering a remaining amount of water from the quantity of water to the brew basket to complete the brewing cycle.
Beverage preparation machine
A beverage preparation machine includes a main housing, a brew head having an outlet for discharging a prepared beverage, a water reservoir, and a water path for conveying water from the water reservoir to the brew head. The water reservoir is movable with respect to the main housing between a storage configuration and a beverage dispensing configuration. The water reservoir may be non-removable from the main housing. The water reservoir may include a dual-purpose lid.
BEVERAGE DISPENSING MACHINE
Machines, devices, and methods for generating and dispensing mixed beverages are disclosed. An exemplary beverage machine includes a liquid storage container, an additive ingredient chamber, a mixing chamber, a piston for providing fluid movement into and/or out of the mixing chamber, and a cooling system. The cooling system may be configured to recycle heat rejected from the liquid storage container to provide a heat source for warming a mixed beverage contained in the mixing chamber, in addition to other functions and components.
