In vending machines that dispense food and other products, it is known to have machines that dispense stored food and other products. In this invention, selected prepackaged foods can be stored in the frozen or cold state and then prior to dispensing to the end-user, it is thawed or warmed by an internal heating process to serving temperature for customer consumption. The machine is segmentally divided both horizontally, to separate the operating machinery from food storage for hygienic and servicing reasons, and vertically, to create interchanging of the size of the modular product dispensing outlet elevator columns for adaptability to the dimensions of the stored product. Included in the design is an internal storage compartment with a mechanism that dispenses prepacked condiments that are coordinated to the selected product. This design of a vending machine may include an audiovisual screen for advertisement along with another section that identifies the available product with its calorie content. The top of the machine may have display signage that can be internally lit with color changing lights. Provisions for unattended dispensing to persons with disabilities are included by virtue of voice activated and guidance features, and illuminated and tactile surfaces.

DRIVE SYSTEM FOR VENDING MACHINE

A drive system for a vending or other dispensing machine includes an electronic switch and an electric motor configured to actuate dispensing coils or other dispensing technologies to dispense instances of products. The drive system minimizes the risk of sparking and igniting propane or other volatile refrigerants or other volatile chemicals or materials used in or near the machine. The electronic switch may be a Hall effect switch, and the electric motor may be a brushless DC electric motor. A homing circuit is connected to the drive system to control/monitor actuation of the dispensing mechanism. A wiring harness connects the electronic switch to the electric motor, and may include a connector which can be set to allow the electric motor to operate in a clockwise direction or in a counterclockwise direction.

A vending machine comprises a shelf for holding goods; an automatic payment terminal connected to the shelf for receiving payment of selling the goods; and at least one biometric reader that is connected to the automatic payment terminal for performing electronic bill payment of the goods. A method of selling goods automatically comprises step of providing goods on a shelf of a vending machine; reading biometric data of a user in order to identify the user; processing payment of the user according to the biometric data; and releasing the goods after receiving the payment.

APPARATUSES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS FOR THE AUTOMATED DISPENSING OF ARTICLES

Provided herein is a system for automated dispensing of articles. Systems may include: a robotic arm; an end-of-arm tool attached to the robotic arm; a scanning device proximate the end-of-arm tool; and a controller to control the robotic arm and the end-of-arm tool. The end-of-arm tool may include a body and two or more vacuum cups extending from the body, where the controller controls a level of suction provided to each of the two or more vacuum cups individually. Each of the two or more vacuum cups extending from the body may be movable between a retracted position proximate the body, and an extended position away from the body of the end-of-arm tool in response to instruction from the controller. Suction may be provided only to the vacuum cups of the two or more vacuum cups that are disposed in the extended position.
