A coin chute for a vending machine may include one or more anti-fishing assemblies located in the vicinity of the coin chute's opening for receiving coins. The anti-fishing assemblies may include one or more rotatable anti-fishing fingers that project into a coin channel. The anti-fling fingers may rotate out of the coin channel to allow inserted coins to pass. In addition, the anti-fishing fingers prevent withdrawal of inserted coins out of the coin channel. The anti-fishing assemblies may be in addition to anti-pull back assemblies that prevent inserted coins from being withdrawn back past a coin discriminator.

System and method for direct transfer of electronic parking meter data

A single space electronic parking meter mechanism for inserting into an outer parking meter housing is provided. The mechanism includes an inner housing, a payment receiving structure supported by the inner housing and an electronic display screen supported by the inner housing. The meter mechanism includes wireless communications hardware including an antenna. At least a portion of the antenna is located above at least a portion of the electronic display screen.

A parking meter is provided that has a parking meter mechanism and an extruded tubular base secured to an existing pole. The extruded tubular base encloses a coin canister that may be accessed through either an opening in the base of the parking meter mechanism or a door opening in the extruded tubular base. The extruded tubular base may be secured to the existing pole by an upper ring and a lower ring. One or more lights may be arranged down the sides of the extruded tubular structure to convey information to users or parking enforcement personnel.
