Systems and methods for retrofit housing for transaction devices

A housing facilitates a service operation for a transaction device. The housing is communicatively coupled to a housing control computing system. The housing includes a user interface comprising a first input/output (I/O) device that is communicatively coupled to the housing control computing system. The housing includes a transfer cassette interface structured to receive a transfer cassette that is structured to retrievably store banknotes. The housing also includes a media aperture interface structured to couple to a media aperture of the transaction device. The media aperture interface includes a first sensor structured to detect a parameter of the service operation. The media aperture interface also includes a transfer arm structured to facilitate transferring banknotes to and from the media aperture. The housing also includes a transport apparatus that facilitates transporting banknotes to and from the transfer cassette via the transfer cassette interface and/or the media aperture interface.

NO-DOWNTIME UNIVERSAL UTILITY CASSETTE FOR RECIRCULATION IN MULTIPLE SYSTEMS

A utility device for receiving and dispensing bills is disclosed. The utility device includes a sensor structured to detect at least one parameter associated with the bills received by the utility device, a cleaning component structured to perform a cleaning operation on one or more of the bills received by the utility device, and memory having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by one or more processors, cause the one or more processors to perform a utility operation comprising receiving data from the sensor regarding the at least one parameter, and selectively causing the cleaning component to perform the cleaning operation on one or more of the bills received by the utility device from a cash-bearing component based on at least the data and a location of the utility device.

Self-service modular drop safes with deposit creation capability

Novel modular smart management devices in the form of drop safes include the modular components of a chassis, door and technology cabinet. The drop safes enable retailers to make cash deposits quickly and safely within or near their own facilities. Various technology, including RFID readers, RFID tags, and other equipment allow the drop safes to identify each deposited bag. Employees utilize specialized apps on their mobile devices to facilitate deposit creation and other tasks. Novel methodologies for accessing the drop safes for emptying employ single-use, time-expiration type authorization codes along with other security measures to minimize risk and to provide other benefits. Novel structures along with methodologies for replacing, on-site, modular components with auto-detection of functionality during initialization and re-initialization enables for efficient replacement and upgrading of components, including the upgrading of safes to provide additional functionality.

Medium processing apparatus

The present disclosure provides a medium processing apparatus, including: a housing provided with a surface facing a customer operating the medium processing apparatus; and a rolled coin device housed in the housing and configured to process rolled coins formed by bundling a plurality of loose coins. The surface of the housing includes a designated area located in a height range conforming to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standard with respect to a height direction of the medium processing apparatus, and a rolled coin dispensing port of the rolled coin device for dispensing the rolled coins is arranged in the designated area.

A Self-Service Terminal (SST) that provides valuable media deposit features is enhanced with an apparatus fastened to an outside surface of the SST. The apparatus is adapted to receive an externally provided valuable media cassette and connect/interface a port of the cassette to an unload infeed port. A transaction interface is enhanced to identify the cassette as a source device for obtaining valuable media during a deposit transaction. The SST feeds the valuable media from the externally connected cassette through media validation and transport modules of the SST into cassettes of a safe and the SST returns rejected media for the deposit transaction back through the modules to return rejected media to the externally interfaced cassette.

Transaction storing and forwarding

After loss of communications between a cash handling device and a financial institution, transactions may continue to be processed. In one configuration, the transactions may be processed up to a predefined transaction limit. Transaction limits may be defined by a number of transactions, a dollar amount transacted or to be transacted, an amount of time and/or combinations thereof. Additionally or alternatively, the transaction limit may be specific to one or more types of transactions. Transaction data may be stored in memory until communication has been re-established, at which time the data may be transmitted to the financial institution for processing.
