In an example embodiment, there is disclosed herein a technique that allows the capabilities of an automated banking machine, such as an ATM, to be upgraded remotely. For example, the banking machine may be sold or leased with an initial configuration. It the customer desires to add additional features, the customer can pay for the features and the manufacturer or dealer can send a signal from a remote host to the automated banking machine with data representative of the upgrade. The banking machine then operates with the upgraded configuration.

SECURITY FOR CONNECTED DEVICES

A method includes: receiving, by a computer device and from an automated teller machine, a personal identification number that is associated with an account; determining, by the computer device, that the personal identification number is a disablement personal identification number that is associated with the account, the account having an activation personal identification number, the disablement personal identification number and the activation personal identification number being different; determining, by the computer device and as a result of receiving the disablement personal identification number, at least one disablement action to be performed by a device other than the automated teller machine; and transmitting, by the computer device, a command to perform the disablement action.

Methods and systems for demonstrating a personalized automated teller machine (ATM) presentation

A computer-implemented method for demonstrating a personalized automated teller machine (ATM) presentation to a user may include: obtaining transaction data of the user via a device associated with the user; obtaining, via the one or more processors, geographic data of the user based on the transaction data; generating, via the one or more processors, ATM data based on the geographic data of the user; obtaining, via the one or more processors, user feedback data based on the ATM data, wherein the user feedback data comprises a selection of an ATM of the list of the ATMs; transmitting, to the selected ATM of the list of the ATMs, presentation data based on the transaction data and the user feedback data; and demonstrating, via the selected ATM of the list of the ATMs, the personalized ATM presentation to the user based on the presentation data.

PAYMENT ACCEPTOR WITH A MULTIFUNCTION IMAGING SENSOR

A payment acceptor (500) includes an inlet, a payment media transport path to transport payment media such as a banknote or a coin from the inlet to an interior of the payment acceptor, and an imaging sensor (501) to capture an image of an object inserted in the payment media transport path. The imaging sensor is configured to capture an image of a user (504) attempting to insert an object (505) into the inlet. At least one processor (3902) is configured to receive one or more images of the media captured by the imaging sensor via at least one of the one or more fiber optic sensors (1121, 1122), analyze at least one of the one or more images to determine at least one media characteristic of the media, store the at least one media characteristic in the memory (3904), and cause the payment acceptor to perform an action based on the at least one media characteristic.

SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING APPLICATIONS ON AN AUTOMATED TELLER MACHINE (ATM)

Described is an Automated Teller Machine (ATM), and related systems (and methods), that allows for applications (or “Apps”) to be accessed on the ATM. The system allows for a third-party application to be verified and installed on ATMs to provide users with additional services. The application may access peripherals of the ATM via an Application Programming Interface (API) provided as part of a Software Development Kit (SDK). Accordingly, the system may provide a secure mechanism for ATM providers to provide users with the benefits of accessing third-party applications. Moreover, these applications may leverage specialized ATM peripherals and provide functionality that may not otherwise be available on other types of devices.

AUGMENTED REALITY-ENABLED ATM FOR SECURE AUGMENTED REALITY CHECK REALIZATION

An Augmented Reality (AR)-enabled Automated Teller Machine (ATM) receives a request to dispense cash equal to amount of an AR document. The AR document comprises an AR check. The AR-enabled ATM fetches a first AR check image from a memory. The AR-enabled ATM extracts a first set of features from the first AR check image. The AR-enabled ATM receives a second AR check image from a computing device associated with the receiver. The AR-enabled ATM extracts a second set of features from the second AR check image. The AR-enabled ATM compares the first AR check image with the second AR check image. The AR-enabled ATM determines whether the first AR check image corresponds to the second AR check image. In response to determining that the first AR check image corresponds to the second AR check image, the AR-enabled ATM dispenses cash equal to the amount.

Computer-based system for provisioning new accounts using location-based authentication

A method comprises receiving, by a computing device from a customer device, a request to provision a financial account for the customer, associating, by the computing device, a mobile device with the requested financial account, and sending, by the computing device to the mobile device, authentication information for the requested financial account. The method further includes receiving the authentication information by the computing device from a financial terminal that received the authentication information from the mobile device, receiving, by the computing device, first location information of the mobile device, and provisioning, by the computing device and based on the first location information of the mobile device being within a predetermined distance of a location of the financial terminal, the requested financial account for the customer.

APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR CONTACT-MINIMIZED ATM TRANSACTION PROCESSING USING RADAR-BASED GESTURE RECOGNITION AND AUTHENTICATION
20230143436 · 2023-05-11 ·

Apparatus and methods for contact-minimized automated teller machine (“ATM”) use and transaction processing using Doppler-radar based gesture recognition and authentication. The apparatus and methods may include an ATM including a millimeter-wave radar transmitter and receiver. Movement of one or more objects, including fingers, within a radar field may be analyzed and translated into gestures and authentication passcode(s). By utilizing the radar field instead of physical buttons or a touchscreen, contact with the ATM may be minimized.
