Self-service modular drop safes with messenger access capability
Novel modular smart management devices in the form of drop safes include the modular components of a chassis, door and technology cabinet. The drop safes enable retailers to make cash deposits quickly and safely within or near their own facilities. Various technology, including RFID readers, RFID tags, and other equipment allow the drop safes to identify each deposited bag. Employees utilize specialized apps on their mobile devices to facilitate deposit creation and other tasks. Novel methodologies for accessing the drop safes for emptying employ single-use, time-expiration type authorization codes along with other security measures to minimize risk and to provide other benefits. Novel structures along with methodologies for replacing, on-site, modular components with auto-detection of functionality during initialization and re-initialization enables for efficient replacement and upgrading of components, including the upgrading of safes to provide additional functionality.
Biometric Automated Teller Machine
The present invention relates to a biometric automated teller machine that uses biometrics to authenticate a user rather than a bank card and personal identification number. The biometric automated teller machine comprises a biometric scanner configured to scan the fingerprint of the user and a camera configured to scan the iris and retina of the user. The captured biometric is compared with biometrics that have been registered by the user for the purpose of authentication. The biometric automated teller machine enables the user to withdraw cash and perform other actions in a safer, more convenient, and simpler manner than do current automated teller machines.
Alternative service access
Alternative service access with operations including determining that a system has met a plurality of criteria, including the system having a battery level below a threshold, identifying a merchant, generating an authentication token for authorizing a payment using a payment provider, and sending the authentication token to the payment provider.
Wireless device for retrofitting ATMs
A wireless device is provided for retrofitting ATMs. The wireless device including a memory; at least one hardware processor coupled to the memory; a hardware interface coupled to the least one hardware processor; and, at least one antenna coupled to the at least one hardware processor, where the at least one hardware processor is configured to: (i) receive over the at least one antenna an instruction to retrieve state data; (ii) receive the state data over the hardware interface from an ATM; and, (iii) transmit over a virtual private network (VPN) using the at least one antenna the state data, where the VPN is separate from a financial institution network the ATM communicates with to perform transactions.
ERROR CODE HISTORY COLLECTION WITH QUICK RESPONSE CODES
A method for collecting error code history includes detecting a fault caused by errors in a machine, initiating a dispatch request from the machine to a service location, generating a first quick response code in response to a first input signal from a technician, where the first quick response code encodes first configuration items that describe the machine and first error codes that characterize the detected errors, presenting a first graphical image of the first quick response code on a display, performing a self-test in the machine in response to a second input signal, generating a second quick response code after the self-test has been completed, where the second quick response code encodes second configuration items that describe the machine and second error codes, and presenting a second graphical image of the second quick response code on the display.
Electronic device for displaying information and method thereof
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a display configured to display information, an input device configured to receive a user input, an image sensor, a processor electrically connected with the display, the input device, and the image sensor, and a non-transitory computer readable storage medium electrically connected with the processor that stores instructions that cause the processor to control the display to display first-level information as a locking mode is partially released when partial authentication passes based on bio-information acquired through the image sensor in a state in which the electronic device is in the locking mode, and control the display to display second-level information having a security level higher than a security level of the first-level information as the locking mode is fully released when full authentication passes based on a user input made through the input device.
Systems and methods for using transparent surfaces in an automated teller machine
The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for using transparent surfaces at an automated teller machine. In one implementation, a method of visualizing a deposit at an automated teller machine includes receiving a command to deposit at least one depository element; determining an amount associated with the command; displaying, on a transparent surface of the automated teller machine configured to allow a user of the automated teller machine to view the at least one depository element, a visual representation of the determined amount; and receiving, concurrent with or after displaying, a verification of the amount.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR RESOLVING AUTOMATED TELLER MACHINE ERRORS
Disclosed are methods, systems, and non-transitory computer-readable medium for resolving automated teller machine (ATM) errors. For instance, the method may include receiving error information indicative of the error; collecting interaction information, including user information and terminal information, related to the interaction at the terminal; and generating a claim that includes an identification of the claim, the error information, and the interaction information. The method may further include transmitting an indication of the claim to a device associated with the person; analyzing the claim by using a risk exposure model; and selecting, using the analysis of the claim, an exposure value for the claim. The method may continue to determining, based at least in part on the exposure value, whether a claim restitution should be completed; and transmitting, to the device associated with the person, the determination of whether the claim restitution should be completed.
MONEY HANDLING SYSTEM AND MONEY HANDLING METHOD
A banknote handling system includes: first and second banknote handling apparatuses, each comprising: a hopper configured to receive banknotes, a transport path along which the banknotes received in the hopper are transported, a recognition unit configured to acquire a denomination and a serial number of each banknote transported along the transport path, and a control unit programmed to generate information including the denominations and the serial numbers of the banknotes acquired by the recognition unit; and a determination unit programmed to: receive the information and determine whether or not a total monetary amount of the banknotes processed by the second banknote handling apparatus matches a total monetary amount of the banknotes processed by the first banknote handling apparatus.
Systems and methods for ATM deposit jammed item imaging and transaction completion
Systems, methods, and apparatuses for ATM deposit jammed item imaging and transaction completion are described herein. A transaction system detects, based on information provided by a sensor coupled to the transaction system, an interrupted transaction. The transaction system receives partial transaction information related to the interrupted transaction. The transaction system also receives an image associated with the interrupted transaction from a computing device. The transaction system determines additional transaction information based at least on the image. The transaction system may execute operations related to the interrupted transaction based on the additional transaction information.
