Various embodiments are related to apparatuses and methods for enabling a merchant to perform banking-type transactions for a customer. A merchant can use, for example, a sales system configured to be used by the merchant to sell goods to perform a banking-type transaction for a customer. The sales system can send information related to the banking-type transaction to, for example, a buyer/seller platform. When the banking-type transaction is a deposit, the merchant can receive funds for the deposit from the customer. The platform can credit the customer's financial account for the deposit amount by diverting payment card funds, received by the merchant for the sale of goods and processed by the platform, to the customer's financial account. When the banking-type transaction is a withdrawal, the platform can debit the customer's financial account and credit the debited funds to the merchant's financial account.

The ATM may transmit the security details to the third-party network via the call communications module. The third-party network may verify the security details with one or more databases which are accessible by the third-party network. Upon failure to verify the security details, the third-party network may transmit a failed verification response to the ATM.

A media terminal includes two integrated currency devices, each device providing at least one feature/operation that is similar to or is the same as the other device. Two independent sessions to each device are made and presented to a transaction application of the terminal as a single aggregated session. When the transaction application issues a command through the single aggregated session, a decision is made that is transparent to the application as to which device should process the command on behalf of the application and the command is issued to the selected device over the corresponding independent session. A method performed by a processor of a provider computing system includes allowing an account holder at the provider to initiate a transaction with the provider remotely (e.g., via smartphone, online banking, etc.), by submitting a request for a specified transaction to be picked up in a lockbox at a provider's lockbox location. The pickup and completion of the account holder's requested transaction occurs at a lockbox location that has a plurality of lockboxes. The lockbox allows the account holder to access the facility at the account holder's leisure, both in time and location. The lockbox pickup service alleviates the uncertainty, fluctuating time cost, and inconvenient operating hours by allowing the account holder to request transactions with an easy to use interface resulting in a lockbox to be accordingly prepped so that the account holder can provide the proper authentication information and access the lockbox.
