Illuminated cash drawer
An illuminated cash drawer with the illumination mounted on the inside surface of the top of the case in which the drawer is located.
Point of sale (POS) device for currency control
Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are disclosed for currency control. An example point-of-sale (POS) device for use with physical currency notes includes a scanning system configured to generate physical currency data associated with one or more physical currency notes and a controller operably coupled with the scanning system. The controller is configured to generate digital currency data based upon the physical currency data. The digital currency data includes a digital representation of the physical currency notes. The controller further determines one or more selected physical currency notes for destruction based upon the digital currency data and may query a currency attribute database that includes one or more currency attributes associated with the physical currency notes. The POS device also includes a currency destruction mechanism that causes destruction of the selected physical currency notes.
Money Launderer
The present invention is an apparatus that is contained inside the confined space of a Point of Sale Cash Register, Cash Drawer and is designed specifically to sterilize currency and or additional items placed inside the drawer, automatically. The invention includes UVC lighting source(s), either CCFL tube (spanning the length of the enclosure, and located centrally above the denomination separation slots, or by high powered LED-UVC with printed circuit board and located directly above the tray/till slots). The upper, interior surface of the enclosure is lined with highly reflective material. Each slot in the cash tray/till is also lined with highly reflective material. The system is controlled electronically, via an external power supply, that is connected to a dedicated circuit board, which is located in the rear of the enclosure, and is activated by a photo sensor each time the drawer is opened. A programmable timer initializes at the moment the drawer is fully closed. The cycle stops when the drawer is either opened, or the integrated timer expires. A safeguard against undesired leakage from the front of the enclosure, around the drawer opening, is addressed by equipping the cash drawer with a ‘lipped’ door that attaches directly to the horizontally, sliding drawer. The lip wraps around all four sides of the embodiment. UVC is known to be harmful and should be used with necessary precautions in all applications. A counter can be integrated into the circuit to numerically count actual usage over time.
Media sanitizing cassette and method of operation
A valuable media sanitizing/cleansing cassette is provided for sanitizing/cleansing surfaces of valuable media dispensed to a consumer during a dispense transaction at a transaction terminal. Dispensed media is urged from one or more media cassettes within the terminal along a transport path. The transport path is altered to pass the media through the sanitizing/cleansing cassette where the top and bottom surfaces of the media are illuminated with Ultraviolet (UV) radiation to eradicate any bacteria or virus that may be adhered to the top or the bottom surfaces of the media. Once the media passes through the sanitizing/cleansing cassette, the now sanitized/cleansed media is urged along a remainder of the transport path and dispensed from a media interface of the terminal to the consumer. In an embodiment, media deposited at the terminal is also sanitized/cleansed by passing through the sanitizing/cleansing cassette before being stored in the appropriate media cassettes.
IMPROVED SYSTEM FOR COLLECTING CUSTOMER RATINGS FROM A PIN ENTRY DEVICE
The present invention provides a system operable to collect customer ratings during a transaction using an electronic point of sale system comprising a computer programmed to effect operation of the electronic point of sale system. The system includes a POS module programmed to manage operation of a scanner, a PIN entry device; a payment application operable to manage the PIN entry device; a POS proxy module; a payment application plug-in operable in conjunction with the payment application; a scanner pass-through driver operable to pass scanner signals between the POS module and the scanner while collecting information from the scanner signals and sending that information to the POS proxy module; wherein the POS proxy module is programmed to cause collection of a customer rating during the transaction by using the information received from the scanner pass-through driver to initiate a customer rating collection session, to send a customer rating initiation signal to the payment application plug-in which in turn causes the PIN entry device to prompt the customer to enter a rating.
DRAWER APPARATUS
The present invention provides a drawer apparatus capable of locking and unlocking a drawer without position control and motor stop control. A lock frame is released from the hook to be brought into an operable state by unidirectional rotation of a DC motor in an engaged state. A drawer is released from an anchor to be advanced out of the retracted position when the lock frame operates. A planetary gear unit is pushed by the lock frame. A small-diameter planetary gear is thereby shifted from the engaged state to a default state. The anchor is engaged with the drawer when the advanced drawer is pushed back to the retracted position. The hook is engaged with a lock when the advanced drawer is pushed back to the retracted position
Automated teller machine with an automatically actuatable locking element for locking cash boxes received in receiving compartments in these receiving compartments
An automated teller machine (10) has at least one receiving compartment (12 to 18) for receiving a cash box (102). At least one locking element (24, 26) is provided on a wall (20, 22) of the receiving compartment (12 to 18) and is movable between a locked and an unlocked position. The locking element (24, 26) is designed and mounted such that, when a cash box (102) is inserted the locking element (24, 26), the locking element (24, 26) is moved automatically from the unlocked into the locked position by contact with an engagement element (104) of the cash box (102).
CHECKOUT DEVICE
A checkout device according to an embodiment includes a bill discharge port and a coin discharge port. The bill discharge port is disposed in a left side upper part of a front surface of a housing and discharges bills. The coin discharge port is disposed below the bill discharge port and discharges coins.
Intelligent cash drawer unit or cash register and methods of operation therefor
An intelligent cash drawer unit or cash register is operable to process signals from load cells beneath note/coin cups when the drawer is open. It then determines the weight/value of cash in the cups, in order to either (a) detect an accurate weight in a cup comprising a poorly placed note, or (b) allow a float to be added, or a lift to be made, stepwise, whilst the drawer remains open. An intelligent cash drawer unit or cash register is also described which can detect a poorly placed note, by either (a) comparing signals from the load cells when the drawer is open, and when the drawer is closed or (b) monitoring stable readings, over a predetermined period when the drawer is closed and comparing the monitored values and where the apparent weight determined by the transducer appears to reduce by more than a predetermined amount, determining that a note is poorly placed.
MONEY DISPENSING DEVICE AND ACCOUNTING DEVICE
In one embodiment, a money dispensing device has a storage device, an attaching/detaching mechanism and a control device. The attaching/detaching mechanism detachably supports a storage bag. When the storage device to store money has overflowed, the money stored in the storage device is discharged to a storage bag. The control device outputs information indicating that the storage bag is not attached when the storage bag is not attached to the attaching/detaching mechanism.
