PORTABLE SCAN-ASSISTANCE DEVICE
A portable scan-assistance device is provided. A mobile device operated by a customer establishes a connection to the scan-assistance device at the start of a shopping trip by tapping the mobile device on the scan-assistance device or by the mobile device scanning a code affixed to the scan-assistance device. A status light on the scan-assistance device illuminates a designated color (such as blue) upon successful connection. A camera/image sensor/barcode reader of the scan-assistance device captures an item code of an item placed in front of the camera and forwards the item code to a mobile shopping application on the user mobile device during the customer's shopping trip. When an item code is successfully captured the status light of the scan-assistance device illuminates a second color (such as green), otherwise the status light of the scan-assistance device illuminates a third color (such as red).
Visual Indicator of Frictionless Status of Retail Shelves
A method for determining whether shoppers are eligible for frictionless checkout is disclosed. The method may include obtaining image data captured using a plurality of image sensors positioned in a retail store; analyzing the image data to identify at least one shopper at one or more locations of the retail store; detecting, based on the analysis of the image data, at least one product interaction event associated with an action of the at least one shopper at the one or more locations of the retail store; based on the detected at least one product interaction event, determining whether the at least one shopper is eligible for frictionless checkout; and in response to a determination that the at least one shopper is ineligible for frictionless checkout, causing delivery of an indicator that the at least one shopper is ineligible for frictionless checkout.
Sku translation between point of sale systems in kiosk-based quick service restaurant environments
Disclosed embodiments provide the ability to create a single customer-operated kiosk quick service restaurant ordering system menu application which may be easily integrated with any number of different back office point of sale system implementations without compromising menu design and the customer user interface experience.
POS system and control method of a POS system
A POS system SY has a card reader 4 that reads data; a printer 2 connected to the card reader 4 and receiving data input from the card reader 4; and a tablet terminal 1 connected to the printer 2. The tablet terminal 1 has a POS application 52 for executing a transaction process, a payment application 53 for executing a payment process based on data input to the printer 2, and a control unit 110 that controls the POS application 52 and payment application 53.

CAMERA CONTROL DEVICE AND METHOD TO PROCESS CAPTURED IMAGE USING AT LEAST ONE CAMERA
According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for processing an image photographed by using at least one camera comprises the following steps of: receiving a first image photographed to have a first image quality through at least one camera; detecting a human object from the first image; generating an event signal when it is detected that a product object is picked up by the human object after the human object is detected in the first image; and acquiring a second image including the human object by controlling the at least one camera to photograph to have a second image quality higher than the first image quality in response to the event signal.
MOBILE TERMINAL, MOBILE TERMINAL PROGRAM, CHECKPOINT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM, AND CHECKPOINT MANAGEMENT METHOD
A mobile terminal that can be utilized for a checkpoint management system performs contactless electric communication with a reader/writer device for a passive RFID tag. An application processing unit cooperates with an application server through electronic communication. A position information acquisition unit acquires current position information of the mobile terminal. A terminal controller or a RFID tag processing unit receives a signal related to a carrier wave or a command emitted from the reader/writer device which results in a trigger that causes the application processing unit to operate. The application processing unit acquires from the mobile terminal personal information and chronologic information. The application processing unit further transmits the information to the application server together with current position information. Information transmitted from the mobile terminal can be utilized as history information on the checkpoint from, through or at which the user departs, passes or arrives.
