A stationary communication unit is adapted to be mounted to a headwall of a healthcare facility and enable wireless communication between a patient support apparatus and a nurse call system. The unit also performs one or more additional functions, such as, but not limited to: determining when a healthcare worker enters/exits the room; determining when the patient support apparatus exits/enters the room; storing/retrieving medical device data associated with a patient; directing medical device data to one or more displays in the room; auto-updating, auto-retrieving, and/or auto-displaying data upon healthcare worker entry into the room; auto-muting room sounds during nurse-patient communication; and auto-directing a healthcare workers electronic device to data associated with the patient in that room. In alternative embodiments, one or more of these additional functions are incorporated into a patient support apparatus.

Hospital bed having wired and wireless network connectivity

A hospital bed is programmable with new firmware that is downloaded to the bed over a network. The firmware is downloaded to the bed automatically from a remote computer device. The remote computer device receives a message from the hospital bed which includes data regarding the version number of the bed's current firmware, and if the version number indicates that the firmware is an outdated version, the remote computer device downloads a new version of the firmware to the bed.

System and method of medical device alarm management

Systems and methods of medical device alarm management include receiving alarm data from a plurality of medical devices. The alarm data includes a plurality of alarms from the plurality of medical devices. A summary of the received alarms from the plurality of medical devices is visually presented. Upon receiving a selection of a medical device of the plurality of medical devices, an identification of each of the alarms from the selected medical device is visually presented. A frequency of each of the alarms from the selected medical device is visually presented.

Apparatus, system, and method for motion sensing

Methods and devices provide physiological movement detection, such as gesture, breathing, cardiac and/or gross body motion, with active sound generation such as for an interactive audio device. The processor may evaluate, via a microphone coupled to the interactive audio device, a sensed audible verbal communication. The processor may control producing, via a speaker coupled to the processor, a sound signal in a user's vicinity. The processor may control sensing, via a microphone coupled to the processor, a reflected sound signal. This reflected sound signal is a reflection of the generated sound signal from the vicinity or user. The processor may process the reflected sound, such as by a demodulation technique, to derive a physiological movement signal. The processor may generate, in response to the sensed audible verbal communication, an output based on an evaluation of the derived physiological movement signal.

Water leak detection device and integration platform

A water monitoring system has aback-end system comprising an authentication module, a machine learning module, an alerts module, and a third-party module. The back-end system remotely connects to a local system which has a water monitoring device and the authentication module authenticates the connection relative to a user. The back-end system remotely connects to a third-party system using the third-party module and the authentication module authenticates the connection relative to the same user. The back-end system receives data from the local system and the third-party system, the machine learning module analyzes the data to determine one or more rules which identify water usage as intended or unintended, and the alerts module provides an alert to one or more of the local system, the third-party system, or a client device when the water monitoring device measures water flow data which indicates a leak according to the one or more rules.
