Described herein are enhanced visual & audio devices for use in access control systems. In one aspect, the device includes a reader, a first sensor, and at least one processor. The reader receives a user credential. The first sensor detects motion within a predetermined distance from the device. The at least one processor triggers at least one output notification if motion within the predetermined distance from the device has been detected by the first sensor. In one aspect, the device is mounted to a surface proximately to an access point to a controlled area and the device includes a second sensor that detects motion that is indicative of a person passing through the access point.

GEO-LOCATION SERVICES

A method for geo-location services is described. In one embodiment, the method includes tracking incidents that occur within a predetermined geographic area in relation to a subscription service, upon receiving a request for a list of incidents in relation to the predetermined geographic area, generating a notification comprising the requested list of incidents, and sending the notification to one or more subscribers within the predetermined geographic area.

Method of hospital bed network connectivity

A hospital bed is programmable with new firmware that is downloaded to the bed over a network. The firmware is downloaded to the bed automatically from a remote computer device. The remote computer device receives a message from the hospital bed which includes data regarding the version number of the bed's current firmware, and if the version number indicates that the firmware is an outdated version, the remote computer device downloads a new version of the firmware to the bed.

Methods and apparatus for securing a tracking beacon to personal protection equipment

This disclosure presents various means for securing a tracking beacon to personal protection equipment. The tracking beacon mount is constructed of a cover, a base, a transmitter and a mounting mechanism, such as a strap. The transmitter has a unique identifier which is detected by a proximity sensor. The proximity sensor is operably connected to a tracking system which can be used to detect the presence of the beacons. The system is programmed to recognize the types of items used and warn the user if something predetermined as required for the location or job type is missing.

A doorbell system may project an illumination on a surface. The doorbell may include a housing, a button, a camera, a microphone, a speaker, a motion detector, and a light source. In some embodiments, the doorbell includes at least one lens coupled to a bottom surface of the housing adjacent the light source. The at least one lens may be configured to allow light from the light source to pass through the at least one lens such that when the electronic doorbell is attached to a building the light source projects an illumination onto a ground surface in front of the doorbell.

Deep-learning-based fall detection based on human keypoints

Various embodiments of a fall-detection system for detecting personal fall while preserving the privacy of a detected person are disclosed. This disclosed fall-detection system can begin by receiving a sequence of video images comprising a person being monitored. The disclosed fall-detection system then processes each video image in the sequence of video images by: detecting the person in the video image; and extracting a skeletal figure of the detected person by identifying a set of human keypoints from the detected person. Next, the disclosed fall-detection system processes the sequence of skeletal figures corresponding to the sequence of video images by labeling each skeletal figure in the sequence of skeletal figures with an action among a set of predetermined actions. The disclosed fall-detection system subsequently generates a fall/non-fall decision for the detected person based on the set of action labels corresponding to the sequence of video images.

Nurse call pillow speaker with audio event detection and methods for same

The present disclosure may be embodied as a pillow speaker system. The pillow speaker system has a patient interface device (PID) having a processor and an audio output. A nurse call audio port is provided to communicate with a nurse call station. A detection circuit is provided to detect a nurse call signal and a provide nurse call indicator if a nurse call signal is present. The processor is programmed to receive the nurse call indicator from the detection circuit; provide a nurse call audio signal to the audio output if the nurse call indicator is received; and mute audio signals to the audio output except the nurse call audio signal.
