A security device is provided that includes an electronic article surveillance tag that may be configured to resonate to provide a wireless response signal to a deactivator to trigger generation of a deactivation field. Further, the security device may include tamper detection circuitry which may include a tamper sensor configured to generate a tamper signal in response to detecting a tamper event, a deactivation sensor configured to generate a deactivation signal in response to detecting the deactivation field, and a sounder. In this regard, the tamper detection circuitry may be configured to deactivate the tamper detection circuitry in response to receiving the deactivation signal from the deactivation sensor such that receipt of the tamper signal after deactivation of the tamper detection circuitry does not trigger the sounder to emit the alarm.

An activity monitor is associated with a container, such as a medication bottle, and includes one or more detectors configured to detect activity associated with the bottle, such as movement, opening and/or closing, and changes in volume and/or mass. The activity monitor may include alerting devices and be programmed with scheduling information. The activity monitor may also, or instead, be part of a system and communicate with one or more remote devices such as a user device or monitoring system, such as to receive programming information from those devices or to output activity information to those devices.

A merchandise security device is provided. The merchandise security device may include a base configured to be attached to a support surface. The base includes an alarm circuit and a tether, and the tether is configured to be extended and retracted relative to the base and to be coupled to one or more items of merchandise. The alarm circuit is configured to detect removal of the base from the support surface, cutting of the tether, and/or removal of the tether. In addition, the security device includes a lock mechanism configured to lock to the tether for securing the one or more items of merchandise to the tether, wherein one or more items of merchandise are removable from the tether when the lock mechanism is unlocked.

A merchandise security device is provided. The merchandise security device may include a base configured to be attached to a support surface. The base includes an alarm circuit and a tether, and the tether is configured to be extended and retracted relative to the base and to be coupled to one or more items of merchandise. The alarm circuit is configured to detect removal of the base from the support surface, cutting of the tether, and/or removal of the tether. In addition, the security device includes a lock mechanism configured to lock to the tether for securing the one or more items of merchandise to the tether, wherein one or more items of merchandise are removable from the tether when the lock mechanism is unlocked.

A secure container for storing a package, comprising: a lock for locking the container; a sensor for sensing that the secure container is unlocked; a transceiver for communicating with a telecommunications network; a controller configured, in response to the sensor sensing that the secure container is unlocked, to communicate, by means of the transceiver, an alert to a network device via the telecommunications network.

The exit device is configured to locally analyze sensor data to determine the security state of the exit device, report data to a management system via a wireless communication channel established between the exit device and the management system, and receive and process instructions to perform an electronic dogging operation.
