The second component includes an alarming mechanism configured to be armed prior to the second component being secured to the first component. The alarming mechanism may include one or more actuating mechanisms that actuate the alarming mechanism. In certain embodiments the second component is configured to slidably engage the first component. In other embodiments, the security device further includes a cable having an end attached to the first component or the second component.
Mobile Phone Accessory
The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a mobile accessory device that includes a housing having a collapsible grip and defining an attachment surface that is configured to adhere to, attach to, or engage with another surface, a user input apparatus arranged at least partly within the housing and configured to activate in response to input by a user, and a controller arranged at least partly within the housing and configured to activate in response to activation of the user input apparatus and trigger one or more predetermined functions including causing a mobile device to perform one or more predetermined mobile device functions.
System and method to monitor inventory of storage container
A system and method for monitoring the inventory of a medical storage container that has a required inventory of medical articles. An enclosure is used to isolate, scan, and take an inventory of a tray or other container of medical articles each of which has an RFID tag. The enclosure having a size smaller than the size needed for a resonant frequency at the RFID frequency of operation of the tags. An injection device is used to create a robust electromagnetic field standing wave of constructive interference in the enclosure and a program compares the scanned present inventory of the tray to the required inventory database and indicates any differences. Expired and recalled articles are identified.
Anti-theft merchandise hook
An anti-theft merchandise hook that includes a top wire connected to a housing portion at one end of the top wire, and to a mounting portion, used to mount the anti-theft merchandise hook to a stationary surface, at another end of the top wire opposite the one end. A bottom wire is attached to the mounting portion and extends from the mounting portion toward the housing portion. The bottom wire is configured to hold retail merchandise. A moveable hanger is at least partially disposed within the housing portion. The hanger is configured to move linearly between a closed position in which the hanger abuts the bottom wire, and an open position in which the hanger is spaced some distance from the bottom wire.
MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE FOR HOME AUTOMATION
A mobile communication devices operates to: generate first control data to control an auxiliary device coupled to one of a plurality of home automation devices; establish a group of the plurality of home automation devices; establish at least one task associated with the group of the plurality of home automation devices; receive selection of the at least one task associated with the group of the plurality of home automation devices; and generate second control data in response to selection of the at least one task associated with the group, wherein, responsive to the selection of the at least one task associated with the group, at least one of the plurality of wireless transceivers transmits the second control data to the group of the plurality of home automation devices to control, in accordance with the at least one task, each of the auxiliary devices coupled thereto.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ACQUIRING DATA FROM ARTICLES OF MERCHANDISE ON DISPLAY
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to systems, devices, and methods for displaying and securing articles of merchandise. In one example, a merchandise security system includes a plurality of security devices. Each of the security devices is configured to be attached to an article of merchandise and includes an illumination source for generating a light signal. The system also includes at least one computing device configured to communicate with the illumination sources in order to obtain data from the security devices and/or the articles of merchandise. Each of the security devices is configured to configured to generate a security signal in response to removal of the article of merchandise from the security device.
ANTI-THEFT DEVICE WITH REMOTE ALARM FEATURE
An anti-theft device with a remote alarm feature is provided. The device is configured to attach to an item of retail merchandise and detect when a predetermined motion and light condition are met which together are indicative of a potential retail theft. Upon detection, the device is configured to generate a local alarm, and send a radio frequency to a remote device to generate an alarm at the remote device.
User Intervention Based on Proximity Between Tracking Devices
A tracking system can provide intervention notifications to a user to notify the user that a tracking device is potentially lost or is in a predicted state. The tracking system may notify the user that a tracking device is potentially lost or in a predicted state based on a number of factors, including: a proximity of a tracking device to other tracking devices or a user's mobile device, a movement of a tracking device to more than a threshold distance away from a mobile device or other tracking devices, a location of a tracking device relative to a geographic location or to geographic boundaries, a usage or movement behavior of the tracking device, a usage or movement behavior of a user or owner of a tracking device, information received from an external source, or information received from sensors within the tracking device or a user's mobile.
Systems and methods for dynamically assessing and mitigating risk of an insured entity
Embodiments of the present invention delineate systems and methods for dynamically assessing and mitigating risk of an insured entity. Additional embodiments of the present invention delineate systems and methods for providing a user of a mobile device with information relevant to a position of a mobile device, wherein such information may describe one of a risk and an opportunity within a predetermined distance of a location for the mobile device.
CABLE LOCK SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A smart cable lock is provided that is configured to mechanically secure items and provide an automatic determination that securing is achieved. The smart cable may be integrated into a vehicle, or otherwise may communicate with a vehicle. The vehicle includes one or more ports configured to house the cable when not in use. In some embodiments, an accessory includes one or more ports configured to engage with the connector. In some embodiments, the cable is affixed to the vehicle at one end, using a retractor, for example, and can be unspooled, intertwined with equipment, and then secured to a port on the vehicle. The smart cable lock secures and releases a latch based on user indications and authorizations. For example, if the cable is destroyed or damaged, or an unauthorized indication is made, the cable lock system may sound an alarm, or otherwise alert the user.
