An auditable security system for preventing unlawful diversion of goods and/or services is provided. The security system includes a secure enclosure, an access control system that generates audit data, cameras proximal to the access control system, cameras located in the secure enclosure, a video management system that manages the cameras and generates video data, an exterior computing system configured to allow users to interface with the access control system, the video management system and data stored by the systems, and a database configured for storing data stored by the access control system and the video management system. When a user interacts with the access control system, the cameras begin generating audio and video data, which is stored, along with audit data, in the connected database. The audit data and video data is also provided to a third-party system for processing.

NAVIGATION SYSTEMS FOR WHEELED CARTS

Examples of systems and methods for locating movable objects such as carts (e.g., shopping carts) are disclosed. Such systems and methods can use dead reckoning techniques to estimate the current position of the movable object. Various techniques for improving accuracy of position estimates are disclosed, including compensation for various error sources involving the use of magnetometer and accelerometer, and using vibration analysis to derive wheel rotation rates. Various techniques utilize characteristics of the operating environment in conjunction with or in lieu of dead reckoning techniques, including characteristic of environment such as ground texture, availability of signals from radio frequency (RF) transmitters including precision fix sources. Navigation techniques can include navigation history and backtracking, motion direction detection for dual swivel casters, use of gyroscopes, determining cart weight, multi-level navigation, multi-level magnetic measurements, use of lighting signatures, use of multiple navigation systems, or hard/soft iron compensation for different cart configurations.

Systems and methods for theft prevention and detection

A system and method for premises theft prevention and detection. A system comprises a media capture device, a target area and target object at a workstation, and operably configured code in non-transitory computer readably storage media. A system recognizes a theft or misappropriation and can notify a business owner or police. The system is powered by machine-learning algorithms that progressively improve accuracy and precision in theft detection.

PORTABLE REMOTE SURVEILLANCE DEVICE AND SYSTEM
20190373222 · 2019-12-05 ·

A portable remote surveillance device and monitoring system that allows remote collection of sensor data, sound, and imaging data, while not requiring power to drive motion to change location of the surveillance device. The surveillance device comprises a plurality of data collection components for obtaining data from a current location's environment and a plurality of action controllers for providing action signals to alter location of the portable remote surveillance device. The current location of the portable remote surveillance device is determined. Sensor data, image data, and audio data via sensors, camera, and microphone are obtained and transmitted to a server. The data is analyzed and a desired action is determined. Control data associated with the desired action is sent to action controllers of the portable remote surveillance device. An action by an appropriate action controller is performed according to the received control data.

VISUAL AND/OR VIDEO MONITORING APPARATUS AND METHODS
20190342524 · 2019-11-07 ·

An apparatus, including a database, processor, receiver, and transmitter. The apparatus receives a request to visually or video monitor an individual entity, requests and receives information regarding the position or location of a monitoring computer, identifies a camera or video recording device or a plurality of same, and generates a report containing information regarding the position or location of the monitoring computer, the camera(s) or the video recording device(s), and a link or a hyperlink to a picture, a photograph, video information, or live streaming video, obtained by each camera or video recording device. The apparatus transmits the report to a user communication device. The report is viewable via a display device of the user communication device. A picture, photograph, video information, or live streaming video, is viewable via an electronic forum on the display device.

Monitoring a Sensor Output to Determine Intrusion Events
20190311608 · 2019-10-10 ·

A method of detecting intrusion events including at least two different event types which have different characteristics of frequency and time comprises providing a sensor responsive changes in a medium generated by a potential intrusion event with the sensor generating an output signal indicative of the changes in the medium, analyzing the signal to determine changes in amplitude so as to detect the change in amplitude of the detection signal as a function of time, and performing at least one of: (i) in the frequency domain, carrying out a frequency analysis of the signal from the sensor and dividing the frequency analysis into separate sections which are selected so as to correspond to the characteristic frequencies for each event type, or (ii) the algorithm requiring the presence or absence of a time domain step function.
