Vibration detecting apparatus and vibration detecting method

Provided are a vibration detector and a vibration detecting method, which are power saving, can detect vibration even if the vibration is very weak, and can perform both start-up of the apparatus and collection of data of vibration information by the use of only one sensor. The apparatus includes a vibration detector, a semiconductor switch, a controller and a power supply. The semiconductor switch and the controller are connected to the power supply. The vibration detector detects vibration and consequently generates a vibration voltage. The semiconductor switch includes a voltage divider for generating a bias voltage inside. The semiconductor switch detects a voltage produced by superposing the bias voltage onto the vibration voltage outputted from the vibration detector, and conducts current when the detected voltage is equal to or larger than a certain value. The controller wakes up with the current conducted by the semiconductor switch as a trigger signal.

A smart alarm module equipped for a vehicle includes a microcontroller adapted to arm the smart alarm module in response to a remote controller, a tilt sensor coupled to the microcontroller, where the tilt sensor is applied to the vehicle to sense change of angle values of the vehicle, the tilt sensor is activated to trigger an alarm when the change of angle values exceeds a predetermined value. The tilt sensor includes a register A and a register B to respectively store initial angle values produced from the tilt sensor. A calculation of |A(n)B(n+1)| is performed to check whether the tilt sensor is triggered, if positive, sends out the alarm; otherwise, stores the updated angle data of the register B in the register A. A(n) represents angle value stored in the register A at previous time, and B(n+1) represents currently updated angle value stored in the register B.

VEHICLE INTRUSION DETECTION USING SENSOR FUSION

Described herein are systems, methods, and other techniques for performing intrusion detection at a vehicle. A set of inertial samples are captured using an inertial sensor. A set of pressure samples are captured using a pressure sensor. A first specific pattern is identified in the set of inertial samples and a second specific pattern is identified in the set of pressure samples. The first specific pattern is temporally aligned with the second specific pattern. In response to identifying the first specific pattern and the second specific pattern, a notification of an intrusion event is generated. The notification of the intrusion event is transmitted to a remote device.
