Verifying occupancy of a building
A method for detecting occupancy of a building is described. In one embodiment, the method includes using a microphone to monitor for sounds at a building, detecting a sound via the microphone, and determining whether the sound is made by a human or made by an animal. In some cases, the microphone is a glass break sensor microphone.
Sensor for an electric fence barrier system
A sensor for an electric fence barrier system comprising at least one electric fence wire is provided, the sensor comprising a mechanical sensing component to measure deflection of the electric fence wire to which the sensor has been fitted, and to produce a corresponding electrical deflection signal, an electrical activity monitoring component to measure the electrical activity on the electric fence wire to which the sensor has been fitted, and to produce an electrical activity signal, and a controller to receive and process the electrical deflection signal and the electrical activity signal, and to generate an alarm if either or both of the measured deflection or the electric activity exceeds predetermined values, and/or to communicate the electrical deflection and electrical activity signals to a remote location.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF SECURITY DEVICES FOR USE WITHIN A SECURITY PLATFORM
Embodiments of systems and methods related to security devices that can detect potential theft of valuable or important objects. In some embodiments, the security device can be embedded in or attached to an object of concern and provide notifications in relation to an unauthorized contact to the object (or contact to a container object including the object) and carrying away the object. When such unauthorized theft occurs, in some embodiments, the security device can provide a notification, such as a visual notification or auditory notification, or tactile notification.

SECURITY ELEMENT FOR AN OBJECT SURFACE
A security element for an object surface separated by a vertical distance, in particular an object height, from a floor area, includes a longitudinally extending flat support body including a first and second flat side. The first flat side is designed to be placed on the object surface. A presence detector and an evaluation unit are mounted on the second flat side, and the support body is made of a flexible material. The presence detector includes a detection region spatially extending around the presence detector away from the first flat side. The detection region is formed by a near-field region, and the evaluation unit includes an electrical energy storage device. The presence detector forms a measuring unit including an electrical characteristic variable. The presence detector also includes at least two electrically conductive electrodes, the electrodes being formed substantially along the entire longitudinal extent of the support body.
Access control system for use in restricted areas and industrial environments
The invention relates to an access control system for use in restricted areas (400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900) and industrial environments comprising at least one controlled electrostatic field sensor (100) connected to at least one antenna (1); wherein said antenna (1) is configured as a single electrode, such that said sensor (100) measures the disturbances in the electrostatic field around said antenna (1) in a particular direction, and wherein the controlled electrostatic field sensor (100) is configured for detecting a disturbance in the electrostatic field generated by its own antenna (1). The sensor (100) is connected to a control device (40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90).

ELECTRONIC TATTLETALE FOR ATM CASE INTRUSION
The disclosed embodiments provide systems, methods, and articles of manufacture for detecting an intrusion of a product (e.g., an ATM) via an electronic tattletale. The disclosed embodiments may provide an ATM comprising a housing and a detection circuit coupled to the housing. The detection circuit may detect that an intrusion into the housing has occurred based on a change in an electrical property of the housing. The ATM may also include one or more memory devices and processors configured to execute the instructions to detect an intrusion based on a change in capacitance. Systems and methods are also disclosed for manufacturing an ATM. The systems and method may include applying a substance to the interior of a housing of an ATM and coupling a detection circuit to the substance, the detection circuit detecting an intrusion into the housing based on a change in capacitance.
