Cognitive load reducing platform for first responders
A platform comprises one or more sensors that collect information about an environment as sensor data. A processor is in communication with the one or more sensors, wherein the processor executes enhancement engines that processes the sensor data into enhanced characterization data having a reduced amount of data compared to the sensor data. An output device electronically communicate the enhanced characterization data to a user, wherein the sensor and the output device comprise an assisted perception module worn by the user during an incident. A command interface device remote from the user to enable a person of authority to manage the incident and the user by receiving and displaying the enhanced characterization data, and by transmitting data and commands back to the assisted perception module.
FIRE PROTECTION DEVICE
Disclosed is a fire protection device (1) having at least one high-resolution detection unit (2, 3) which is configured to monitor a space for a fire event and to output a video data signal. The at least one high-resolution detection unit (2, 3) includes a wide-angle lens (4) with a detection angle equal to or greater than 100 degree to at least partially cover the space or a specific region of the same. Furthermore, the fire protection device has at least one movable extinguishing unit (100) configured to discharge an extinguishing agent to a location within the space in which a fire event is monitored by the at least one high-resolution detection unit (2, 3).
FLAME DETECTING ARRANGEMENT
In accordance with one or more embodiments herein, a flame detecting arrangement 100 is provided. The flame detecting arrangement 100 comprises: at least one optical flame detector 110, arranged with its field-of-view covering a predetermined area; at least one movement sensor 120, arranged together with the at least one flame detector 110; and at least one processing device 180 arranged together with the at least one flame detector 110. The at least one processing device 180 is arranged to: receive signals from the movement sensor 120; detect abnormal movement of the flame detector 110 based on these signals; and alert an operator and/or a control system 200 if abnormal movement of the flame detector 110 has been detected. This enables the field-of-view of the flame detector to be corrected to the desired, preferably the original, field-of-view.
Systems and methods for monitoring antenna arrays
A method of monitoring an antenna array comprises generating first image data at a first time. The first image data is reproducible as a first image of an antenna array unit. The method further comprises generating second image data at a second time. The second image data is reproducible as a second image of the antenna array unit. The method further comprises comparing the first image data and the second image data. The method further comprises transmitting an alert that is indicative of the presence of at least one with the antenna array unit at the second time. The alert is transmitted in response to the comparison between the first image data and the second image data indicating the presence of the at least one fault with the antenna array unit at the second time.

Online industrial flare smoke auto-detection and off-line smoking event reporting
A system and computer software mechanism is disclosed that can automatically detect smoking conditions for industrial flares. In an online mode, the software mechanism can analyze live video images to identify smoking conditions and generate a “Smoke Level” value to represent the seriousness of the smoking events. In an off-line mode, the software mechanism can load saved video files and analyze video images to identify smoking conditions and generate a “Smoke Level” value to represent the seriousness of the smoking events. In the online mode, the Smoke Level data can be sent to the plant distributed control system (DCS) or other control devices so alarms can be generated and automatic or manual control actions can be taken quickly to stop the flare from smoking. In both online and off-line modes, Smoke Level data can also be saved in historical files for reporting and smoke event tracking purposes. Using the described system and software mechanism, industrial plants can comply with EPA regulations at all times, improve flare control and monitoring, be better prepared for EPA reporting and auditing, and save energy and manpower.
