A system may include a user monitor device, a supervisory device, and a subscription sub-system. The subscription sub-system may be configured to: obtain a definition of a boundary that includes a radius from a particular location; monitor, by way of global positioning system (GPS) signals, a location of the user monitor device; determine that the user monitor device has crossed the boundary; and in response to determining that the user monitor device has crossed the boundary, transmit an alert to the supervisory device.

An apparatus, including a housing, display, keyboard or touch screen keyboard, microphone, speaker, camera, memory or database which stores information regarding a travel schedule or itinerary, global positioning device, controller, transmitter, and first communication device. The controller detects a deviation of the apparatus from the travel schedule or itinerary or detects an absence of, or a leaving of, the apparatus from the expected location on the travel schedule or itinerary and generates a travel route deviation message. The transmitter transmits the travel route deviation message to the first communication device. The apparatus initiates a telephone call to the first communication device or to a second communication device, deactivates an on/off switching functionality of the apparatus to prevent the apparatus from being turned off, and deactivates a telephone calling on/off switching functionality to prevent the telephone call from being terminated.

A tracking and monitoring shoe that includes a tracking device comprising a controller, a battery in electrical communication with at least one solenoid and at least one permanent magnet, a plurality of lights, a microphone, and a speaker. The tracking device may be implanted within a portion of the shoe, defined as the tracking section. The plurality of lights may be operable to emit light from a sole of the shoe and the plurality of lights and the tracking device may be electrically connected to the battery. The battery may be configured to be rechargeable when a walking motion translates the at least one permanent magnet. Furthermore, the tracking device may be configured to activate the plurality of lights, microphone, and speaker when the tracking device detects the shoe has reached or transcended a boundary.

Method and apparatus for tracking objects and people

An object locating, identifying, tracking, and surveillance system, denoted the Assets Locating, Tracking, and Surveillance System (ALTSS), is provided for managing physical objects and evidence in environments such as police departments, law offices, and the Courts. ALTSS employs radio frequency identification (RFID) technology, computer programming and database applications, networking technologies, and hardware elements. ALTSS may locate and track physical evidence, merchandise, information carriers like files, folders or individual pieces of paper, and people, under certain conditions, in near-real time. It may be configured as part of a local area network, a wide area network, or the Internet. ALTSS may employ exemplary components such as RFID transponders, scanners, strategically located antennas and computers to facilitate tracking of objects and people as needed. Any number of users having access privileges and connected to the network may access ALTSS directly or remotely via the Internet to locate and track evidence or objects.

System and method for communication using ambient communication devices

Interactive communication devices in communication with a central server support ambient communications between two or more remotely located users. Each device has a sensor and a feedback device. The sensors allow the device to sense outgoing interaction (e.g., a squeeze or hug), and the feedback devices allow the device to demonstrate incoming interactions. A central device is activated when someone interacts with any of the other devices within the network. The other devices in the networkthe peripheral devicesare activated both when the interaction originates from the central device as well as from the other peripheral devices. When the server determines that a user has interacted with one of the devices, messages are sent to other devices in the network to reflect the user interaction. The communication devices allow the users in the network to send messages to each other by simply squeezing their respective devices.
