Methods, systems and processor-readable media for providing instant/real-time voice alerts automatically to remote electronic devices. An activity can be detected utilizing one or more sensors. A text message indicative of the activity can be generated and converted into a digitized voice alert. The activity can also be a live utterance (e.g., a live announcement), which can then be instantly converted into a digitized voice alert for automatic delivery in a selected series of languages following the base language (e.g., English). The combined digitized voice alert can then be instantly transmitted through a network for broadcast of consecutive alerts (e.g., English followed by Spanish followed by Vietnamese, etc.) to one or more remote electronic devices that communicate with the network for an automatic audio announcement of the digitized voice alert through the one or more remote electronic devices.

VISUAL AND AUDITORY USER NOTIFICATION METHODS FOR SMART-HOME HAZARD DETECTOR

Hazard detector for providing a pre-alarm of a developing hazardous condition can include a detection module that detects a hazard level of smoke or carbon monoxide, a light source that generates light, a speaker that generates an audible sound, a horn that generates an audible alarm that a higher volume than the speaker, and a processing module. The processing module can receive the detected hazard level and compare it with the pre-alarm threshold and the emergency threshold. The processing module can determine that the hazard level is greater than the pre-alarm threshold and less than the emergency threshold and cause an audible pre-alarm speech to be generated via the speaker that warns of the developing hazardous condition.

SMART DEVICE WITH INTEGRATED CONDITIONAL LIGHTING

Various arrangements of smart devices and systems are presented. Such smart devices and systems may include a wireless interface, a light sensor that detects an ambient brightness level of an ambient environment of the smart device, a motion sensor that detects motion of a user in the ambient environment of the smart device, a light that is capable of outputting light into the ambient environment of the smart device, and a processing system. The processing system may cause the light to illuminate based on: the message indicating that the lighting feature has been activated; the ambient brightness level being below the threshold brightness value; and the user moving in the ambient environment of the smart device or system.

Systems and methods for controlling a climate control system of a smart-home environment that includes a plurality of smart devices are provided. One method includes detecting, with a hazard detector of the smart devices, a level of carbon monoxide (CO) at the hazard detector that exceeds a threshold CO level at a location of the hazard detector, determining, by one of the smart devices, that the climate control system includes a combustion based heat source, and in response to the detecting and the determination, transmitting, by a system controller of the climate control system, a first signal to turn off at least one aspect of the climate control system.

Systems and methods for measuring effectiveness of advertisement displays in public areas. A smart sensor box is connected to the display screen incorporating cameras to capture images of the vicinity of the display and individuals within it. A location sensor captures the location of the display. A processing unit identifies and profiles individuals viewing the display based on data captured by the cameras and the location sensors. A communication interface transmits processed data to a central hub and receives feedback from the central hub. The central hub analyses display engagement and profiles of individuals for measuring the effectiveness of the advertisement being displayed and provides feedback for updating the display.

A warning system of the present disclosure has at least two detectors for detecting conditions within a structure that are communicatively coupled via a wireless area network (WAN), and each detector is configured to activate an alert and to transmit data indicative of a detected condition to a smart device. In addition, the warning system has a processor configured to receive the data indicative of the detected condition and automatically initiate control logic resident on the smart device. Further, the processor is configured to initiate an alert in response that indicates the presence of the detected condition in the structure, which is conveyed to a user of the smart device.
