10929328 · 2021-02-23 · ·

The teachings of the present disclosure relate to bus systems. Various embodiments thereof may include bus coupling units, for example a bus coupler comprising: four ports comprising input/output connections to which bus cables of a two-wire bus are connectable, wherein both electrical energy and data are transmissible via both bus cables. The first port and second port are bus coupler-internally electrically conductively connectable by means of a first connection path. The third port and fourth port are bus coupler-internally electrically conductively connectable by means of a second connection path. The first connection path and second connection path are bus coupler-internally electrically conductively connectable by a bridge path.

DOORBELL CAMERA WITH BATTERY AT CHIME

Doorbell camera systems are provided to include a doorbell camera subsystem and a chime subsystem both coupled to receive power from an alternating current power source. The doorbell camera subsystem may include, among other features, a camera module and a doorbell button. The chime subsystem may include, among other features, a current compensation network and chime driver circuitry operative to be coupled to a chime. The current compensation network is operative to dynamically adjust current consumption of the chime subsystem and current consumption of the doorbell camera subsystem during both a standby mode and a doorbell event mode.

Using power infrastructures for wildfire detection

Methods, apparatuses, and systems for wildfire detection using power infrastructure are described. One or more aspects of the techniques described include determining (e.g., quantifying) the impact of wildfires on power structures and transmission line sensors. Determination of measurable changes in transmission line temperature and transmission line sag, that result from early onset fires, are used to detect heat events. Therefore, real-time monitoring of transmission line temperature and transmission line sag (e.g., using sensors that are already deployed in some power grid infrastructures) may efficiently detect the early onset of wildfires according to techniques described herein.

An apparatus includes an AC-to-DC power supply, with a positive terminal operatively coupled to two two-wire pairs of an Ethernet port to provide a first and second power path over a structured cable. A negative terminal is operatively coupled to a third two-wire pair of the Ethernet port to complete the first power path. Power path control logic has an input port operative to receive a two-wire input signal from an external device, and is operatively coupled to the negative terminal of the AC-to-DC power supply output, and to a fourth two-wire pair of the Ethernet port to complete the second power path. The power path control logic is operative to disconnect the negative terminal of the AC-to-DC power supply from the fourth two-wire pair of the Ethernet port in response to a two-wire input signal received at the input port, to disconnect the second power path.
