Robust alarm system
A robust alarm system has an alarm controller adapted to input an alarm trigger and to generate at least one alarm drive signal in response. Alarm subsystems input the alarm drive signal and activate one or more of multiple alarms accordingly. A subsystem function signal provides feedback to the alarm controller as to alarm subsystem integrity. A malfunction indicator is output from the alarm controller in response to a failure within the alarm subsystems.
Test Method and Test System for Testing a System for Monitoring the Protection Readiness of a Fire Protection Installation
The invention relates to a test method for testing a system for automated monitoring of a protection readiness of a fire protection system. The test method comprises the following steps: Receiving at least one test parameter of the system, evaluating the at least one test parameter on the basis of at least one specification for the at least one test parameter, and determining, on the basis of the evaluation, a quality indicator indicating the quality of the system's monitoring of the fire protection system.
Visual operator interface for a technical system
A method of controlling a visual operator interface having a plurality of predefined areas, which include one or more monitoring areas configured to display visual elements representing a current state of a technical system. According to the method, it is determined that one of the monitoring areas is to be prioritized; and an incomplete visibility decrease in at least one other area of the visual operator interface is initiated, wherein the prioritized monitoring area is unaffected by the visibility decrease.

STATUS DETECTION OF ALARM SOUNDING PARTS
The invention belongs to the technical field of alarm sounding component, and relates to state detection of an alarm sounding component. The invention provides a state detection device of an alarm sounding component, comprising: a detection circuit for applying a detection signal to control detection of an equivalent load capacitor of the alarm sounding component that is capacitive; a sampling circuit for sampling feedback information of the equivalent load capacitor of the alarm sounding component when a signal of the detection signal is applied to the alarm sounding component to obtain a sampled signal; and a controller for generating the detection signal, and analyzing and processing the sampled signal to obtain state information which can reflect a fault condition of the alarm sounding component.
AUDIO ALERT AUDIBILITY ESTIMATION METHOD AND SYSTEM
A method and system of estimating human perception of audibility of audio alerts in the presence of background noise. In the audibility estimation system, a microphone generates an input signal corresponding to an audio alert. A processor receives the input signal and generates an audibility metric representing human perception of audibility of the audio alert based on a comparison between a background noise estimate and an audio alert estimate, and causes an action to be taken based on the audibility metric.
PASSIVE OPTICAL SENSORS
A passive sensor for detecting the operation of a light source includes a photosensor which, when illuminated by the light source, delivers a voltage to a field effect transistor (FET) which can switch a circuit to control a device at a remote location. The FET transitions rapidly between very low resistance (short circuit) and very high resistance (open circuit), allowing a binary indication to be given in the circuit. The circuit can be used to charge an electrical storage device to allow later download of recent status of the lamp by detecting the charge stored in the device.

ALERT SYSTEM FOR INTERNET OF THINGS (IOT) DEVICES
A method and apparatus for monitoring operational parameters in an IoT device is provided. An exemplary method includes performing a statistical analysis of a system metric. A determination is made as to whether an alert limit has been breached. If so, a message is constructed and dispatched to a server.
