Detecting speaker faults using acoustic echoes
An example apparatus for detecting loudspeaker faults includes a switch detector to detect that a loudspeaker fault detection switch is enabled. The apparatus also includes an audio receiver to receive an echo energy threshold and audio from a microphone in a test area. The apparatus further includes an audio analyzer to detect that the echo energy threshold is not exceeded by an acoustic echo in the captured audio. The apparatus includes a fault generator to generate a loudspeaker fault in response to detecting the acoustic echo does not exceed the echo energy threshold.

PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM COMMISSIONING
Devices, systems, and methods for public address system commissioning are described herein. In some examples, one or more embodiments include a computing device comprising a memory and a processor to execute instructions stored in the memory to communicate an audio file to a controller of a public address system of a facility, wherein the audio file is configured to be played by a speaker of the public address system, receive a recording of the played audio file, compare values of a plurality of audio parameters associated with the recording to target values of the plurality of audio parameters, and modify an audio setting on the controller of the public address system based on the comparison.
FUNCTIONAL SAFETY CRITICAL AUDIO SYSTEM FOR AUTONOMOUS AND INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS
Methods and apparatus relating to functional safety critical audio system for autonomous and industrial applications are described. In an embodiment, safety island logic circuitry transmits an enable signal to cause initiation of a functional safety test for an audio component in a vehicle. Audio processing logic circuitry receives the enable signal and causes activation of power amplifier logic circuitry, in response to the enable signal, to drive the audio component in accordance with an audio alert test signal. The audio component includes a Parametric Acoustic Array (PAA) transducer. Other embodiments are also disclosed and claimed.
EMERGENCY LIGHTING SYSTEM WITH INTEGRATED TESTING AND REPORTING FUNCTIONALITY
An emergency lighting system provides testing and reporting functionality in a rapidly repeatable fashion for environments with numerous emergency lighting units. In one or more embodiments, the emergency lighting system comprises a plurality of emergency lighting units capable of conducting one or more tests and reporting their operating condition as test results. One or more terminals receive and aggregate the test results and present the same to a user. Emergency lighting units having an undesirable operating condition can then be readily identified and addressed.
Audio monitoring and sound identification process for remote alarms
In a method for remote monitoring of alarms, an audio test signal is generated by an alarm device while the alarm device is at a particular location and the audio sensors are arranged in a physically separated configuration. The audio test signal is processed to generate alarm identification data that includes data indicative of directionality of the audio test signal. The plurality of audio sensors, arranged in the physically separated configuration, sense an audio signal that the alarm device generated in response to detecting an alarm condition, and the audio signal and directionality data are processed to determine that the alarm device generated the audio signal. A user is caused to be notified that the alarm device was triggered.
Method of noise suppression for voice based interactive devices
An apparatus including a security system protecting a secured area, a processor of the security system providing a voice connection between a control panel of the security system located within the secured area and a remotely located central monitoring station, the processor automatically providing notification of activation of the provided voice connection, an audio device providing audio entertainment within the secured area, a wireless interface providing a communication channel between the security system and audio entertainment system and a processor of the audio device receiving the automatic notification of activation of the voice connection from the processor of the security system through the wireless interface and automatically reducing a volume of the audio entertainment provided by the audio device within the secured area.
Piezo sounder self-test using feedback pin
A system and method for performing a self-testing a piezo sounder using a feedback pin while being driven by an ultra-sonic frequency. A method includes operating a sounder device in a test mode, the sounder device is operated in an inaudible frequency range during the test mode and detecting a feedback response voltage.
