PORTABLE ALARM SYSTEM
A portable alarm system has a base unit including a processor electrically connected to a wireless transceiver configured to communicate wireless signals to an external location. The base unit is further configured to receive wireless alarm signals from at least a first sensor and a second sensor, both of the first and second sensors being physically separated from the base unit. The processor is configured to be selectively programmed by a user to cause the base unit to communicate with a remote monitoring station in response to receiving an alarm signal from the first sensor, but not in response to receiving an alarm signal from the second sensor. Instead, when an alarm signal is received from the second sensor, the processor causes a different action, other than communicating with the monitoring station, to occur. Such action can include, for example, sending a wireless communication to a mobile electronic device.
POWER SOURCE ARRANGEMENTS FOR SELF-TESTING ALARM SYSTEMS
Devices, systems, and methods for self-testing event devices of a building alarm system are described herein. One self-test alarm system device having a self-testing capability includes a first independent power source connected to a detector module and a second independent power source connected to a self-test module.
USER-CONFIGURABLE PERSON DETECTION SYSTEM, METHOD AND APPARATUS
A system, method and apparatus for configuring a person detection sensor. The person detection sensor may limit its transmissions in accordance with a pre-configured dwell time. The person detection sensor may receive a new dwell time from a personal communication device. When the new dwell time is received, it is stored in memory and is then used to regulate the number of transmissions of the person detection sensor in accordance with the new dwell time.
LOCK DEVICE HAVING POSITION SENSOR
A position sensing system and method for detecting the displacement of a door from a reference position, such as, for example, from a closed position. The system includes a magnetometer that may be operably connected to the door, and which measures positional location relative to a reference magnetic field, such as, for example, a magnetic field provided by a magnet of a lock device. The system may also include an accelerometer that detects acceleration of the door, and thereby provides an indication of when location is to be measured by the magnetometer. Measurement information from the magnetometer is used to derive a position indicator that is compared to a reference indicator, the reference indicator being associated with the reference position. Differences between the position and reference indicators may provide an indication that the door has been moved from the reference position.
GFI tripped circuit detection and wireless notification systems and methods
Systems and methods for ground fault circuit interrupter trip detection and entire premises loss of power and restoration detection and notification of those events is disclosed. An example system may receive a smart plug identification. The system may authorize a smart plug. The system may link the smart plug to a smart plug application. The system may query the smart plug to obtain a power notification. The system may notify smart plug application of a power status.
Light charging system for wireless alarm detectors
A detector includes a housing having a window. A detection engine is configured to detect an event external to the housing. A battery is connected to the detection engine and configured to supply power thereto. A solar cell is configured to generate electricity when exposed to a light received through the window. The solar cell is arranged in the housing and electrically connected to the battery.
Smoke alarm system
A smoke detector alarm system configured with improvements that enable remotely positioning a smoke detector battery from a smoke detector while recharging the battery such that there is not a loss of battery power in case of a power outage and the battery replacement needs are reduced.
DETECTING LIFE BY MEANS OF CO2 IN AN ENCLOSED VOLUME
In a system and method for detecting carbon dioxide in an enclosed volume, a CO2 detection system is triggered to awaken from a deep sleep state. Once awake, the system queries system sensors to determine the current system parameters, including current CO2 level and temperature. Current and expected CO2 decay rates are calculated, and the system determines whether the current CO2 decay rate is within an expected normal range for an unoccupied enclosed volume. If the volume is static, i.e., not moving, and the CO2 rate is rising and the temperature is rising, a series of alerts are sent to contacts previously set up by the user. If the alerts are not cleared by a user, emergency management personnel are notified.
Integrated security system with parallel processing architecture
An integrated security system that includes a security coprocessor coupled to a conventional security system panel and an interactive security system. The integrated security system enables conventional security system features as well as the consumer-oriented interactive features and functions of an interactive security system without sacrificing reliability or the significant burden and cost associated with frequent software updates associated with conventional security systems. The integrated security system also minimizes or eliminates the need for new battery backup circuitry or larger batteries.
