Enhanced hazard detection device configured with security and communications capabilities
11328582 · 2022-05-10 · ·

An enhanced hazard detection device has multiple sensors. A primary sensor continuously monitors for a hazard in a vicinity of the enhanced hazard detection device, and a secondary sensor can detect or measure a physical property in the vicinity of the enhanced hazard detection device. The enhanced hazard detection device can include communications circuitry to wirelessly couple the enhanced hazard detection device to a local network. A power management controller of the enhanced hazard detection device can dynamically manage usable power, where usable power for the secondary sensor and the communications circuitry is conditioned on sufficient usable power being available for the primary sensor. As such, the enhanced hazard detection device can monitor a change in usable power and, if necessary, divert usable power from most of the multiple sensors and/or the communications circuitry to the primary sensor, to maintain uninterrupted hazard detection.

RECONFIGURABLE POWER MODES

An example method to reconfigure power modes of a communication device includes operating the communication device in a first power mode. The method includes receiving a power mode reconfiguration command from a server that instructs the communication device to operate in a second power mode that is different than the first power mode. The method includes, in response to receiving the power mode reconfiguration command, terminating operation of the communication device in the first power mode and operating the communication device in the second power mode. A communication device with reconfigurable power modes may include an MCU, a processor (e.g., CPU) communicatively coupled to the MCU, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium communicatively coupled to the processor. The non-transitory computer-readable medium has instructions stored thereon that are executable by the processor to perform or control performance of the foregoing method.

Predictive analysis support of remote tracking

A method for predictive analysis for maintaining a battery charge of a personal monitoring device is provided. The method includes: locking the personal monitoring device to a limb of a monitored person; collecting historical information about the personal monitoring device including movement data of the personal monitoring device and battery charging history of the personal monitoring device; analyzing the collected historical information for patterns of battery charging behavior; receiving a current location of the personal monitoring device; determining whether to send a battery charge reminder to the monitored person, based on at least a current location of the personal monitoring device, a current batter charge, and the patterns of battery charging behavior; and providing, in response to a positive outcome of the determining, a notification to the monitored person to charge the battery.

CONTROL APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD, PROGRAM, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE SYSTEM THAT PROVIDE LOW POWER CONSUMPTION

The present technology relates to a control apparatus, a control method, a program, and an electronic device system that enables achievement of low power consumption.

The presence or absence of a preset, predetermined subject is detected from an image having a low resolution output by an image sensor in a low power consumption mode, the image sensor including, as operation modes, the low power consumption mode in which the image having the low resolution is output and a normal mode in which an image having a high resolution as compared with the image having the low resolution is output. Then, in a case where the presence of the predetermined subject is detected, the operation mode of the image sensor is set to the normal mode, and the image sensor outputs the image having the high resolution. The present technology may be applied, for example, to control of the image sensor.

Technology to assign asynchronous space warp frames and encoded frames to temporal scalability layers having different priorities

Systems, apparatuses and methods may determine, on a per camera basis, an interest level with respect to panoramic video content, identify a subset of cameras in a plurality of cameras for which the interest level is below a threshold, and reduce power consumption in the subset of cameras. Additionally, technology may determine a projection format associated with panoramic video content, identify one or more discontinuous boundaries in the projection format, and modify an encoding scheme associated with the panoramic video content based on the discontinuous boundaries. Moreover, an encoded frame may be assigned to a temporal scalability layer that has a higher priority than a layer to which an asynchronous space warp frame is assigned. Additionally, technology may reduce the encoding complexity of a boundary between an active region and an inactive region in fisheye content.
