System and method for voice actuated configuration of a controlling device
A speech recognition engine is provided voice data indicative of at least a brand of a target appliance. The speech recognition engine uses the voice data indicative of at least a brand of the target appliance to identify within a library of codesets at least one codeset that is cross-referenced to the brand of the target appliance. The at least one codeset so identified is then caused to be provisioned to the controlling device for use in commanding functional operations of the target appliance.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS PROTOCOLS
In an embodiment, an autonomous vehicle system includes an autonomous vehicle. The autonomous vehicle includes a communications system configured to communicate with the base station, and a control system communicatively coupled to the communications system, the control system comprising a processor. The processor is configured to receive driving commands from the base station, execute the driving commands to drive the autonomous vehicle, and execute a vehicle controller-to-subsystems latency protocol to determine a communications latency between a vehicle controller and vehicle subsystems, and to stop the autonomous vehicle if the communications latency exceeds a user-configurable latency value, wherein the vehicle controller and vehicle subsystem are disposed in the autonomous vehicle.
Systems and methods for configuration of a controlling device to enable selection of one or more media streams
A controlling device has a configurable key. An insert is provided to the configurable key and includes an indicium representative of a media content provider. An image of the indicium or an image of a QR code associated with the indicium is used to assign one or more commands to the configurable key. The one or more commands are used to cause a controllable device to tune to a channel on which the media content provider is being broadcast, to invoke an app associated with the media content provider, to access a website associated with the media content provider, and the like.
Intelligent Item Reordering Using an Adaptable Mobile Graphical User Interface
A system and method for intelligent item reordering using an adaptable mobile graphical user interface is described herein. In some instances, the system may generate a graphical user interface including a first set of graphical elements representing a first set of items, and receive a first input selecting a particular item of the first set of items, the first set of graphical elements including a graphical element representing the particular item. The system may generate a graphical list of quantities and render the graphical list of quantities at a first position in the graphical user interface based on the graphical element representing the particular item in the graphical user interface. In some instances, the system may receive a second input identifying a selected quantity from the graphical list of quantities and modify the graphical element representing the particular item to indicate the selected quantity.

Trainable transceiver and camera systems and methods
A system for installation in a vehicle and for controlling a remote device includes a camera, a trainable transceiver, and a control circuit coupled to the camera and the trainable transceiver. The control circuit is configured to use geographic location information to determine when to initiate a process of using the camera to identify the remote device and transmit an activation signal formatted to control the remote device. Upon initiation of the process, the control circuit is configured to use the camera to identify the remote device by comparing information received via the camera to information stored in memory, and wherein the control circuit is configured to automatically transmit an activation signal formatted to control the remote device, using the trainable transceiver, in response to identifying the remote device.
Gateway-Based Anti-Theft Security System and Method
Improved systems and techniques are disclosed for controlling the security states of anti-theft security systems such as product display assemblies using security fobs. The tasks relating to fob authentication are offloaded to a computer system, and these authentications can be based on identifiers for the different security fobs. The interactions between security fobs and product display assemblies can be consistent regardless of the population of authorized security fobs by using a security code that is shared by the security fobs. When attempting to use a security fob to change a security status for a product display assembly, the provision of the code to the subject product display assembly can be predicated on authorization of the subject security fob by the computer system. The computer system can maintain a list of identifiers for authorized security fobs that is easily updated when new security fobs are added to or existing security fobs are de-authorized from the system.
MEDIA DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SETTING A CONFIGURATION OF THE SAME
A media device and a method for setting a configuration of the same are disclosed. The media device comprises a communication unit connected to a portable terminal, and configured to receive setting information from the portable terminal. The setting information includes at least a portion of internal information of the portable terminal. The media device includes a configuration unit configured to set an initial setting of a configuration by using the received setting information. Here, the configuration unit sets a user account as one of the initial setting according to the received setting information, and the set user account is matched with personalized information or a personalized service provided for a user after the initial setting is completed.
Caching programming data
Systems and methods for facilitating caching of programming data are provided herein, including receiving two or more programming data portions, storing the respective programming data portions, managing access to a storage component or a communication component based on programming data portions stored within the storage component, merging programming data portions with a database, and generating a sleep signal based on a period of inactivity which exceeds an inactivity threshold. In one or more embodiments, caching of programming data may include determining a programming data set based on user profile data, parsing the programming data set into two or more programming data portions, converting respective programming data portions into a binary format, transmitting a first programming data portion of the respective programming data portions, and transmitting additional programming data portions of the respective programming data portions based on a sleep signal.
REMOTE SENSOR AND METHOD FOR COMMUNICATION WITH A REMOTE SENSOR
A remote sensor including a first wireless interface for sending out data. The remote sensor has a second wireless interface arranged separate from the first wireless interface. The second wireless interface is configured for the wireless transmission of information between the remote sensor and an external device. The invention also relates to a method for communication between a remote sensor and an external device. The method involves creating a communication link between a wireless interface of the remote sensor and a wireless interface of the external device, as well as transmitting information between the remote sensor and the external device by the established communication link. This allows for simple configuration or maintenance of the remote sensor by the external device according to the exchanged information.
