Smart Loop Treadle
Lanes sensors are used to count the number of wheel assemblies on vehicles passing over roadway sensors. Lane sensors can also be used to classify vehicles at single and multiple lane sites for tolling and/or traffic planning. For counting vehicles, the Smart Loop Treadle of the present invention is designed for both tire and wheel assembly detection using inductive loop sensors for toll roads in single (Conventional) lane applications. The sensors detect the tire assemblies of both vehicles and vehicle trailers being towed to provide the sum of axle assemblies. For vehicle characterization, the sensor arrangement can have a combination of unique sensors that include tire/wheel detection sensors and vehicle lane position sensors. The characteristics of the vehicle, travel direction, speed, in lane position of the vehicle can be detected using combination of these sensors.
RF Navigation for Motor Vehicles
An apparatus includes a pavement marker configured to be mounted to a road at a lane line of a lane at known orientation with respect to the lane line; and an RF device carried by the raised pavement marker. The RF device is configured to transmit a directional RF navigation signal and it is positioned relative to the known orientation to transmit the signal across the lane in a direction that is substantially normal to the lane line.

A road stud includes a terminal storage unit, a light emission unit, a moving body detection unit, a radio communication unit, and a terminal control unit. The terminal storage unit stores preset unique fixed position information. The light emission unit emits a preset light to the surroundings. The moving body detection unit generates a detection signal indicating that a nearby moving body has been detected. The radio communication unit receives, based on fixed position information, an instruction signal for an operation of the light emission unit from a predetermined control system and transmits a detection signal to the control system. The terminal control unit controls a light emission unit based on the instruction signal.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRACKING VEHICLES
There is a system and a process for tracking vehicles and individuals in a region during an emergency situation comprising at least one server having at least one microprocessor. There is at least one remote electronic device having at least one processor at least one transceiver and at least one GPS transceiver, there is at least two pressure sensitive sensors to determine a rate of movement of vehicles through an intersection. When the system determines an emergency situation via at least one of the pressure sensitive sensors, the system is configured to notify at least one individual adjacent to the two pressure sensitive sensors. Alternatively, the system could be notified by an emergency responder of an emergency situation.

A road monitoring system according to the present disclosure includes a cable (20) including a communication optical fiber laid on a road (10), a reception unit (331) configured to receive an optical signal from at least one communication optical fiber included in the cable (20), and a detection unit (332) configured to detect, based on the optical signal, a pattern according to a traveling state of a vehicle on the road (10), and detect, based on the detected pattern, a traveling state of a vehicle on the road (10).
Smart road system for vehicles
A communication system for vehicles includes a plurality of communication devices integrated into a road. The communication devices are operable to wirelessly communicate with communication systems of vehicles traveling on the road. The communication devices may be electrically powered by solar power. The communication devices wirelessly communicate with a remote server of the communication system. The remote server receives information via the communication devices pertaining to the vehicles traveling on the road and, responsive at least in part to the received information, the remote server communicates information to the vehicles traveling on the road via the communication devices.
