Collaborative distributed agent-based traffic light system and method of use

In this disclosure, collaborative multi-agent-based TST is presented with dedicated intersection controllers that include software agents which read local and remote detection systems and then collaboratively optimize signal timing phases by considering the feedback of all controller agents that may be affected by a change. The disclosure also presents an augmented system which considers network input from handheld remote devices to update certain traffic light phase information and adapt to emerging emergency situations.

Synchronized Work Zone Traffic Management Systems And Methods

Synchronized work zone traffic management systems and methods are disclosed herein. An example method includes synchronizing, by a first vehicle, communication with a second vehicle over a wireless link, and displaying alternatingly, by the first vehicle, one of two messages on a first external display according to an alternating schema. A first message indicates to drivers to drive slowly and a second message indicates to the drivers to stop. The first message being displayed on the first external display when the second vehicle is displaying the second message on a second external display. The first vehicle displaying the second message on the first external display when the second vehicle is displaying the first message on the second external display. The alternating displaying of the first and second messages being used to control flow of traffic on a one-way street.

A traffic detection device for sending a call signal to a traffic signal controller, the traffic detection device having a receiver to receive information sent from a mobile device, the information including identity information and/or location information of the mobile device, a traffic control device (TCD) interface to connect the traffic detection device to the traffic signal controller, and a processor to define a dynamic approach based on one or more of the identity information, speed limit, time of day, or speed of the mobile device. The device may determine whether to send a calf signal to the traffic signal controller via the TCD interface to prompt the traffic signal controller, when the processor determines that the mobile device is in the dynamic approach.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles also known as UAVs or Drones, either autonomous or remotely piloted, are classified as drones by the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as weighing under 212 pounds. The system described herein details Autonomous Flight Vehicles (AFV) which weigh over 212 pounds but less than 1,320 pounds which may require either a new classification or a classification such as Sport Light Aircraft, but without the requirement of a pilot due to the safe autonomous flight system such as the Safe Temporal Vector Integration Engine or STeVIE. Safe Autonomous Light Aircraft (SALA) are useful as drone carriers, large scale air package or cargo transport, and even human transport depending on the total lift capability of the platform.

ADAPTIVE TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM FOR REDUCING CITY TRAFFIC

A management system comprises a movement management unit that communicates via a communication device with a plurality of moving bodies including an autonomous moving body provided with an autonomous control unit for moving autonomously, and that manages the movement of the plurality of moving bodies. The movement management unit comprises a priority/subordination determination unit that determines the degree of priority/subordination relating to the respective movements of the plurality of moving bodies on the basis of individual information of the moving bodies. The autonomous moving body comprises: a priority/subordination comparison unit that compares another priority/subordination degree, which is a degree of priority/subordination determined by the priority/subordination determination unit for another moving body that is a moving body, from among the plurality of moving bodies, different from the autonomous moving body, and the host priority/subordination degree, which is a degree of priority/subordination determined by the priority/subordination determination unit for the autonomous moving body; or a priority/subordination reception unit that receives the comparison results of the host priority/subordination degree and the other priority/subordination degree obtained by comparisons by the moving body management unit.

Method and system for stashing of document alteration information for quicker web preview

Techniques are provided to enable quick previews of what a modified document would look like. In an implementation, a set of page images are stored. Each page image represents a page of a document, the page having been converted to a page image for a first version of the document to permit the document to be viewed in a viewer program. A command is received to modify the document. The requested modification may include, for example, reordering pages, deleting pages, or extracting pages. A preview is generated for a second version of the document. The preview reflects the modification and uses at least one page image from the set of page images created for the first version of the document. Reusing page images allows the preview to be generated very quickly.
