Route optimization for vehicles

In some implementations, a route selection system obtains a first scheduled time for a first event at a venue for a passenger of an autonomous vehicle. The system determines whether the autonomous vehicle will arrive at the venue by the first scheduled time. The system obtains, in response to a determination that the autonomous vehicle will not arrive at the venue by the first scheduled time, a second scheduled time for a second event at the venue. The system determines a route to the venue based on one or more preferences of the passenger, one or more preferences of an operator of the autonomous vehicle, or any combination thereof, wherein the determined route is configured for arrival of the passenger at the venue after the first scheduled time and at or within a time period before the second scheduled time.

Minimizing traffic signal delays with transports

An example operation includes one or more of receiving, by a first transport, an indication from a traffic signal that the first transport is legally able to move from a stopped disposition, elapsing a period of time between receiving the indication and the first transport did not move during the period of time, and receiving a notification at the end of the period of time, by the first transport, that the first transport ought to move.

INCREASING AWARENESS OF PASSENGERS DURING PULLOVERS AND DROP OFFS FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLES

The disclosure relates to controlling a vehicle having an autonomous driving mode. An example method may include identifying a pullover location for the vehicle. As the vehicle approaches the pullover location, information identifying one or more road users may be received. A behavior prediction for each of the one or more road users may be received. One of one of the one or more road users may be identified based on the received behavior predictions for each of the one or more road users and a collision zone for the vehicle. After waiting for the identified one to pass the vehicle, the vehicle may be maneuvered in the autonomous driving mode into the pullover location.

A user can request, via an electronic communication, an autonomous vehicle, such as a taxi, using a mobile device. Once the autonomous vehicle arrives at a pickup location, a wireless electronic communication connection is established between the autonomous vehicle and the mobile device. The autonomous vehicle then generates an audible or visual cue to the user. The mobile direct generates a corresponding audible, visual, or tactile cue as directed via the established wireless electronic communication connection. In this way, the user is able to readily identify which autonomous vehicle is the one requested. In further embodiments the mobile device cue duplicates a pattern of the autonomous vehicle cue or the autonomous vehicle cue and the mobile device cue operate in a call and response fashion.

A system for monitoring a tank truck operation platform and for guiding and positioning vehicles and a method of using the same, the system includes operation platforms. Each of the operation platforms is provided with a lifting support. The operation platform is installed with an upper-position sensor, a lower-position sensor, and a stress sensor, which communicate with a central control device mounted on the operation platform. The central control device communicates with a distance meter and an in-place sensor for detecting the vehicle. The central control device may send signals to a display device, and information of platform status and vehicle position guidance are displayed on the display device to offer the driver with guidance information including whether the platform is safe and available, the moving direction of the vehicle, and position relative to the platform. Meanwhile, the central control device can receive identification information sent by the vehicle.
