The apparatus includes a communication unit wirelessly communicating with a surrounding vehicle, a sensing unit detecting the surrounding vehicle and a lane, a traveling control module configured to control steering or braking of an ego vehicle, and a controller configured to determine whether the ego vehicle can perform steering avoidance driving toward a neighboring lane, through the sensing unit, based on information on a driving mode of a vehicle ahead received through the communication unit, if it is checked through the communication unit that a vehicle ahead of the vehicle ahead is in a stop state and to control the ego vehicle to perform the steering avoidance driving toward the neighboring lane or to urgently brake through the traveling control module, based on a result of the determination.

Methods and systems for autonomous and semi-autonomous vehicle control, routing, and automatic feature adjustment are disclosed. Sensors associated with autonomous operation features may be utilized to search an area for missing persons, stolen vehicles, or similar persons or items of interest. Sensor data associated with the features may be automatically collected and analyzed to passively search for missing persons or vehicles without vehicle operator involvement. Search criteria may be determined by a remote server and communicated to a plurality of vehicles within a search area. In response to which, sensor data may be collected and analyzed by the vehicles. When sensor data generated by a vehicle matches the search criteria, the vehicle may communicate the information to the remote server.

Vehicle and control method thereof

A vehicle is provided to automatically move according to a movement request received from a surrounding vehicle already parked when the vehicle is parked around the surrounding parked vehicle. The vehicle includes a communication unit and a sensor sensing an external surrounding. A steering device steers the vehicle wheels and a power device transmits power to the wheels. In response to receiving vehicle identification information and movement request from the surrounding parked vehicle through the communication unit, a controller determines whether the surrounding vehicle has an authority for the movement request based on the external surrounding and the vehicle identification information. The power device and the steering device are operated based on the movement request when the surrounding parked vehicle has the authority.

Methods and systems for notifying a driver of a first vehicle of obstacles discouraging passing of a second vehicle in front of the first vehicle. The system includes a sensor of the second vehicle configured to detect spatial data in proximity of the second vehicle. The system also includes an electronic control unit (ECU) of the first vehicle. The ECU is configured to receive the spatial data from a transceiver of the second vehicle. The ECU is also configured to determine obstacle data based on the spatial data, the obstacle data identifying a presence of obstacles ahead of the second vehicle discouraging passing of the second vehicle by the first vehicle. The ECU is also configured to provide a notification to the driver of the first vehicle when the obstacle data indicates the presence of obstacles ahead of the second vehicle.

A processing device perform operations comprising receiving a first report from a first vehicle, the first report generated by the first vehicle for a first hazard detected by the first vehicle; receiving a second report from a second vehicle, the second report generated by the second vehicle for a second hazard detected by the second vehicle; analyzing the first report and the second report to make a determination that the first report and the second report identify a related hazard; aggregating the first report and the second report into a consolidated report based on the determination that the first report and the second report identify a related hazard; and processing the consolidated report to identify a contributing factor to the related hazard.
