System and method for detecting obstacles using a single camera
The present application provides an obstacle detection system and method thereof. The obstacle detection method comprises: obtaining a first image captured by a camera at a first time point; identifying a vertical edge candidate in the first image, and measuring a first length of the vertical edge candidate based on the first image; obtaining a second image captured by the camera at a second time point; measuring a second length of the vertical edge candidate based on the second image; calculating a difference between the first length and the second length; and comparing the difference with a predetermined length difference threshold, if the difference is greater than the length difference threshold, outputting a message that an obstacle is found.

An image recording device for a vehicle includes: an image acquisition section configured to acquire a surroundings image in which vehicle surroundings have been captured; an image display section configured to display an overlaid image in a display region inside a vehicle cabin in a case in which a predetermined assisted driving condition has been satisfied, the overlaid image being configured by an assistance image overlaid on the surroundings image acquired by the image acquisition section; and an image recording section configured to record the overlaid image at a recording section during an assisted driving state in which the overlaid image is being displayed in the display region, and, in a case in which the assisted driving state is not in effect, record at the recording section an image that has been subjected to image processing including processing to render a state in which the assistance image is not visible.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ASSISTING A PARKING MANEUVER
Methods and devices assist in a parking maneuver of a vehicle. The vehicle includes a parking aid that produces a first signal. The first signal is perceptible in an interior of the vehicle during a parking maneuver. A signal property of the first signal is adapted to a currently prevailing distance of the vehicle from a parking obstruction. The first signal is converted into a second signal that is perceptible by an operator located outside the vehicle. The second signal is transmitted to the operator disposed outside the vehicle during a remotely-controlled performance of the parking maneuver.
Avoidance of collision with cross-traffic
A method avoids a collision of a motor vehicle initially moving backwards or forwards, in particular leaving a parking place, with cross-traffic. The method detects whether there is a risk of collision with cross-traffic; determines a last possible braking intervention for ensuring avoidance of collision when there is a risk of collision with cross-traffic; and performs an automatic last possible initiation of a braking intervention for preventing the collision in the event of an identified risk of collision, if avoidance of the collision is ensured thereby.
Image processing apparatus, imaging apparatus and drive assisting method
An image processing apparatus includes an I/F, a synthesizer, and a color determinator. The I/F obtains a captured image, which is generated by imaging a subject in the vicinity of a vehicle. The synthesizer superimposes an indicator on the captured image. The color determinator, when color of the captured image is similar to a first color, changes color of the indicator from the first color.
Display strategy for a parking assistance for a motor vehicle
A vehicle parking assistant system which detects and displays a true distance of an object from the vehicle is disclosed. The system includes several vertically stacked LEDs integrated in a window pane of the vehicle. At least one sensor detects the distance between the motor vehicle and an object at a distance from the motor vehicle. A control unit is connected to the sensor and the LEDs. Each of the LEDs has a threshold value of the distance of the object assigned to it, and the control unit is configured to hold each of the LEDs in an inactive state While the distance exceeds the associated threshold value, and to activate the LEDs when the distance drops below the associated threshold value.
