Vehicular vision system with display of combined images
A vehicular vision system includes a rear backup camera at a vehicle. During a driving maneuver, the system partitions each frame of image data captured by the rear backup camera into (i) a left side image data portion, (ii) a right side image data portion and (iii) a rear image data portion. During the driving maneuver, and based at least in part on motion of the vehicle, the system (i) combines left side image data portions of multiple frames of captured image data and (ii) combines right side image data portions of multiple frames of captured image data. During the driving maneuver, the video display displays (i) video images derived from the rear image data portion, video images derived from the combined left side image data portions and the combined right side image data portions for viewing by the driver of the vehicle during the driving maneuver of the vehicle.
Parking assistance method and parking assistance device
The parking assistance method using a parking assistance device includes: when parking of a subject vehicle is performed in a manual mode, detecting a parking execution state of the subject vehicle and determining, based on the parking execution state, whether or not the parking toward a target parking space is necessary again; and when a determination is made that the parking toward the target parking space is necessary again, outputting, to a user interface, guidance information for switching a parking mode of the subject vehicle from the manual mode to an automated mode.
Parking assist apparatus
A parking assist apparatus comprises an imaging apparatus and a controller configured to extract feature points from captured image where a region a driver desires to register a parking position therein is captured, and register the extracted feature points in association with the parking position, registering this position as registered parking position. When it is determined that a feature point(s) is detectable from captured image, the controller calculates the registered parking position by detecting the feature point(s), and performs parking assist control for parking the vehicle in the registered parking position. When a situation where a feature point(s) is not detected even once from the captured image has occurred consecutively a predetermined number of times, the controller erases this feature point(s), newly extracts a same number of feature point(s) as the erased feature point(s) from the captured image, and registers the newly extracted feature point(s) in association with the registered parking position.

A driving support apparatus according the embodiment includes: a determination unit that determines driving support control having a driving support resource amount that is capable of assuring required resources with respect to a resource amount that is capable of being assured by a level of a vehicle driver's concentration on driving, the required resources being assumed to be required for safe driving; and a driving support unit that changes the driving support control to be performed to driving support control that is determined by the determination unit to be capable of assuring the required resources.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DISPLAYING PARKING ZONE
An apparatus for displaying a parking zone may include: a parking zone display controlling unit configured to recognize parking zone lines from image data, to recognize a target parking zone in which a vehicle is to be parked among the parking zone lines on the basis of one or more of vehicle behavior information and the image data, and to correct the parking zone lines so that target parking zone lines in a non-display region are displayed; and a parking zone display unit configured to display the parking zone lines corrected by the parking zone display controlling unit.
Selection of a Parking Space Using a Probabilistic Approach
This document describes techniques and systems for selecting a parking space using a probabilistic approach. An example system includes a processor that can determine whether multiple parking spaces are available in proximity to a host vehicle using sensor data. Parking-space characteristics (e.g., a width, entry turning radius, and longitudinal distance to the parking space) of each available parking space are determined using the sensor data. The processor can then choose a selected parking space among the multiple parking spaces based on the parking-space characteristics. The processor or another processor can then control the host vehicle to park in the selected parking space using an assisted-driving or autonomous-driving system. In this way, the described system can select and navigate to a parking space using a probabilistic approach. The processor can choose the parking space and parking maneuver based on programmable and customizable parking-space characteristics in some implementations.
VEHICLE PARKING ASSIST APPARATUS
A vehicle parking assist apparatus acquires a camera image when the vehicle stops by a non-determined parking lot and acquires feature points of a ground of an entrance of the non-determined parking lot as non-compared entrance feature points from the camera image. The vehicle parking assist apparatus determines whether the non-determined parking lot is a registered parking lot by comparing information on the non-compared entrance feature points with registered entrance feature point information. The vehicle parking assist apparatus executes a parking assist control with using the currently-acquired parking lot information and the registered parking lot information when the vehicle parking assist apparatus determines that the non-determined parking lot is the registered parking lot.
PARKING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS AND VEHICLE HAVING THE SAME
A parking assistance apparatus includes a first sensor configured to sense a first environment corresponding to a first distance around a vehicle; a second sensor configured to sense a second environment corresponding to a second distance around the vehicle that is greater than the first distance; and a display configured to display a graphic image. The parking assistance apparatus also includes at least one processor configured to: acquire first information regarding the first environment around the vehicle and second information regarding the second environment around the vehicle; detect an available parking space based on the first information and based on the second information; and based on an available parking space being detected outside of the first environment, control the display to display information regarding the available parking space.
Method of, and apparatus for, operating a vehicle
A method of operating a vehicle wherein the method comprises using a distance sensor to determine the distance between a part of the vehicle and an object, and implementing a speed control procedure if the distance detected by the distance sensor falls below a predetermined value, characterized in that the method is implemented only while the vehicle is in reverse gear and for a period of time immediately following disengagement of the reverse gear.
Removably Engageable Vehicle Monitoring System
A vehicle monitor is provided to monitor the area adjacent to a parked vehicle on which the monitor is engaged. Cameras and microphones can be mounted on the housing to capture video from persons and vehicles which may move to positions adjacent the vehicle on which the monitor is operating. Captured video is employable to identify any person or vehicle which might contact and damage the vehicle being monitored, and warning lights and indicia may be activated to warn persons proximate to the monitored vehicle they are being recorded.
