The system further includes a pilot display, wherein the pilot display is configured to receive the confirmation flight plan from the flight controller and display the confirmation flight plan to a pilot that is to be commanded by the pilot.

HOST AIRCRAFT WITH MOBILE DEVICE-BASED SYSTEM FOR COLLECTING AND DISSEMINATING FLIGHT DATA

A host aircraft includes a flight data system, the latter including a mobile device, central data server, and transceiver. The mobile device has a processor, memory programmed with a method embodied as computer-readable instructions, and a radio frequency (RF) communications circuit, GPS receiver, and sensor suite. The sensor suite collects raw flight data. Execution of the instructions by the processor causes the mobile device to process the raw flight data into synthesized data, and filter out human-induced motion of the mobile device from the synthesized data using a filtering model, and thereby generate time-stamped filtered flight data. The central data server is in wireless communication with the RF communications circuit, and receives the time-stamped filtered flight data therefrom. The transceiver, which is communicatively coupled to the central data server, disseminates the time-stamped filtered flight data to a user located remotely from the host aircraft.

The apparatus further includes a processor that, in real-time, calculates a minimum distance to avoid the external object, based at least in part on the environmental data and the external data, monitors the environmental data and the external data, and controls the apparatus to avoid the external object based on the calculated minimum distance and the monitored environmental data and external data.

A method of inspection or maintenance of a curved ferromagnetic surface using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) having a releasable crawler is provided. The method includes: flying the UAV from an initial position to a pre-perching position in a vicinity of the ferromagnetic surface; autonomously perching the UAV on the ferromagnetic surface; maintaining magnetic attachment of the perched UAV to the ferromagnetic surface; releasing the crawler from the magnetically attached UAV onto the ferromagnetic surface; moving the crawler over the curved ferromagnetic surface while maintaining magnetic attachment of the released crawler to the ferromagnetic surface; inspecting or maintaining the ferromagnetic surface using the magnetically attached crawler; and re-docking the released crawler with the perched UAV.

The aircraft applies the integrity data to a receiver autonomous integrity monitoring system to produce a protection level for the corrected position solution. The aircraft performs an aircraft operation using the corrected position solution and protection level.
