Method of Estimating Blood Volume
Disclosed are methods, materials and devices for approximation of blood volume in a fluid, such as in a biological fluid collected during a surgical procedure. The method and devices may include a RBC flocculant, such as polyDADMAC, and provide for an approximate blood hematocrit for a selected type of animal, as well as provide for a calculated RBC packing ratio corresponding to the collection device receiving the fluid. Also provided is a Blood Indicator Panel (BIP), comprising a series of markings calculated from an observed red blood cell sedimentation volume, the average animal type hematocrit, and a calculated RBC packing ratio “η” value for the collection device. Pediatric (about 200 ml or 250 ml size container), adult human (about 1,000 ml-1,500 ml) and veterinary (about 500 ml-2,500 ml) collection containers are also disclosed, that may include a RBC flocculant, for use in approximating blood volume in a fluid. Methods of detecting blood in a sample, such as a fluid sample, and kits for performing the methods, are also provided.
Systems and Methods of Radar Surveillance On-Board an Autonomous or Remotely Piloted Aircraft
An example autonomous or remotely piloted aircraft includes a virtual aperture radar system including a plurality of antennas relationally positioned on one or more surfaces of the aircraft such that individual beams from each of the plurality of antennas scan respective volumes around the aircraft and the respective volumes together substantially form an ellipsoidal field of regard around the aircraft, and a computing device having one or more processors configured to execute instructions stored in memory for performing functions of: combining the respective volumes together to form an image representative of the ellipsoidal field of regard around the aircraft, and identifying one or more objects within the image.
SYSTEM FOR VEHICLE OPERATOR WORKLOAD ASSESSMENT AND ANNUNCIATION
A system to assess the current, or future workload of a pilot and automatically providing annunciation when needed to the pilot, as well as to resources that support the pilot. The system may automatically, and without pilot involvement, assess the workload for the pilot based on incoming events and abnormal scenarios. The predicted incoming events may be related to operation data, such as navigation information, weather, traffic avoidance, and so on. The system may also detect abnormal scenarios, such as engine warnings, fuel or other aircraft issues. The system may determine whether the predicted incoming events or the abnormal scenario satisfies one or more pre-defined criteria. Based on the event satisfying one or more criteria, the system may output an annunciation to either the pilot, resources that support the pilot, such as an additional pilot and air traffic control (ATC).
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FLEXIBLE WRITING OF INTERNAL DATA OF REGULATED SYSTEM
An environment and non-transitory computer readable medium that provide runtime write access to a regulated system. A method of providing runtime write access to a regulated system comprising receiving an unauthorized input parameter, and generating a runtime instruction communication. The runtime instruction communication can be modified by an unauthorized function.
Systems and methods for in-flight re-routing of an electric aircraft
In an aspect of the present disclosure is a system for in-flight re-routing of an electric aircraft including a battery pack configured to provide electrical power to the electric aircraft; a sensor configured to detect at least a temperature metric of the battery pack and generate a temperature datum based on the at least a temperature metric; a controller communicatively connected to the sensor, the controller configured to: receive the temperature datum from the sensor; and re-route the electric aircraft based on the temperature datum.
Video display system and method
A system for displaying videos, comprising a processing resource configured to: provide a data repository comprising a plurality of previously captured video segments (PCVSs) captured during previous operations of corresponding platforms, each being associated with metadata indicative of a Line-of-Sight (LoS) of a sensor, carried by the corresponding platform of the platforms used to capture the corresponding PCVS, with respect to a fixed coordinate system established in space, during capturing the corresponding PCVS; obtain an indication of a Region-of-Interest (RoI); identify one or more of the PCVSs that include at least part of the RoI, utilizing the LoSs associated with the PCVSs, giving rise to RoI matching PCVSs; and display at least part of at least one of the RoI matching PCVSs, being displayed RoI matching PCVSs, on a display of an operating platform to an operator of the operating platform during a current operation of the operating platform.
System and method for assisting with the identification of vibration on board an aircraft
A system including a module for collecting vibration signals, a module for filtering the signals, a module for verifying whether the signals preserved by the filtering module correspond to signals representative of a set of flight conditions of the aircraft that are listed in a reference database, a module for identifying sources of vibration, a module for requesting a maneuver to be carried out by a pilot depending on the identified sources of vibration, a module for deciding, using a predefined decision tree, whether the preceding modules should be implemented again, and a module for transmitting a vibration report to a user device. The system allows assistance to be given, to the pilot, with the generation of a vibration report, and assistance to be given with maintenance of the aircraft.
LOCAL ELECTRONIC ENVIRONMENTAL DETECTION DEVICE
The present invention relates to a method and system for gathering data along points of travel using common portable electronic devices that are typically used for other functions. More specifically, the data gathered by these portable electronic devices may be accessed, processed, validated, and used in conjunction with, or alone, to produce, augment, and/or validate other data sets across wide ranges of science and technology.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR AUTONOMOUS FLIGHT CONTROL WITH MODE SELECTION FOR AN ELECTRIC AIRCRAFT
A system and method for autonomous flight control with mode selection an electric aircraft is illustrated. The system comprises an altitude-related sensor and a computing device. The altitude-related sensor is coupled to the electric aircraft and is configured to detect an altitude value. The computing device is communicatively connected to the altitude-related sensor and is configured to receive the altitude value from the altitude-related sensor, to determine a flight mode as a function of the altitude value and an altitude threshold, to determine an aircraft adjustment as a function of a determine flight mode, and to generate an autonomous function configured to enact the determined flight mode and an aircraft adjustment automatically.
