Multisensory learning devices and system for teaching using the method of multisensory learning
10847045 · 2020-11-24 ·

A multisensory learning system incorporates a plurality of connectable multisensory elements. Each multisensory element may be a piece, a tile, or a block, and includes a surface containing a single character recessed into the surface to form a track. The track may guide a user's finger into the recessed area containing a tactile pattern at a base thereof. The tactile pattern heightens the sensory perception of the character to aid in learning. Each multisensory element is capable of being attached to another multisensory element in order to string characters together. In use, tracing of the tactile pattern of the character triggers the combination of sensations of kinesthetic learning through the motion of tracing and tactile learning through the feel of the tactile pattern in the recessed characters. This may be combined with audiovisual learning by looking at the character(s) and speaking the name.

VIRTUALIZATION OF TANGIBLE OBJECT COMPONENTS

Various implementations for virtualization of tangible object components include a method that includes capturing a video stream a video stream of a physical activity scene, the video stream including a first tangible interface object and a second tangible interface object positioned on the physical activity scene, identifying a combined position of the first tangible interface object relative to the second tangible interface object, determining a virtual object represented by the combined position of the first tangible interface object relative to the second tangible interface object, and displaying a graphical user interface embodying a virtual scene, the virtual scene including the virtual object.

The invention relates to devices and methods designed to promote speech and language development and, in particular, learning upper and lower case letters, shapes, colors, numbers and phonemes to improve articulation. Phonemes, which form one of the basic building blocks of speech, are distinguishing speech sounds that differentiate one word from another, e.g. the sounds d and t in the words bid and bit and are the smallest phonetic units that can carry meaning.

Modular Electronics System

A modular electronics system including at least one node including a plurality of interconnected modules. The modules are physically and electrically interconnected, with different modules providing respective functionality, typically including communications, sensing of conditions and performing actions. A hub is provided that communicates with the nodes, determines at least one action to be performed at least partially in accordance with the sensed conditions causes the at least one action to be performed.

Tray-and-block apparatus for device programming

The present invention provides an educational device for teaching various subjects utilizing a tray with an array of contact-embedded recesses for receiving a plurality of stackable blocks with corresponding contacts. Each block includes an electrical component such as resistors and/or capacitors, the value of which is ascertained by a processing circuit within the tray. Each block represents a particular portion of program code, such that the placement of the blocks creates program code comprising the code portions represented by the blocks. Upon a button press by the user the tray then sends information about the blocks present on the tray to an output device. The tray has the capability of sending messages representing the blocks to a variety of outputs via a wireless communication device.
