Methods and systems for calibrating a level of intensity of a fitness exercise given a target effort value facilitate optimal exertion for an individual performing the fitness exercise. An instantaneous effort value is determined based on measured real-time and historical data and communicated to the individual. An aspect of the fitness exercise is adjusted based on a difference between the instantaneous effort value and a target effort value.

System and method for improving a basketball player's shooting through a shots-made challenge

Systems and methods for assisting a user with creating a custom shots-made basketball practice arrangement are provided. A detector detects made basketball shots. A user interface receives a user selection of a subset of pass receipt locations for a custom shots-made basketball practice arrangement located about a basketball playing surface. A control system receives data indicating the user selection and a number of shots to be made and commands an ejector to launch basketballs to a particular one of the pass receipt locations in the subset until data is received indicating that the selected number of shots to be made are made at the particular one of said plurality of pass receipt locations, cease launching the basketballs to the particular one of the pass receipt locations, and begins launching basketballs to a second particular one of the pass receipt locations in said subset.

Exercise machine monitoring and instruction system

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LEARNING OR RE-LEARNING A GESTURE
20220365605 · 2022-11-17 · ·

The invention relates to a system and a method for learning a gesture by a human learner (5), comprising the following steps: equipping said learner (5) with a plurality of motion sensors (6, 7) on a plurality of members that are predetermined in accordance with said gesture to be learned; acquiring biomechanical data provided by said plurality of sensors during a gesture performed by the learner; analyzing said acquired biomechanical data and determining a theoretical correction of the gesture by comparing said biomechanical data of the learner with biomechanical data corresponding to a target gesture; customizing the theoretical correction into a specific correction on the basis of behavior models of the learner derived from a history of biomechanical data acquired for the learner; transmitting said specific correction to the learner; updating said specific correction on the basis of information representing the sensation perceived by the learner when performing the corrected gesture.

Methods, systems, and non-transitory computer readable media for estimating maximum heart rate and maximal oxygen uptake from submaximal exercise intensities

A system for estimating maximum heart rate and maximal oxygen uptake from submaximal exercise intensities can include an exercise intensity monitor, a cardiopulmonary monitor, and one or more computers. The computers can be configured, by virtue of appropriate programming, to receive submaximal exercise intensity data from the exercise intensity monitor and submaximal cardiopulmonary data from the cardiopulmonary monitor while a user, who coupled to the exercise intensity monitor and the cardiopulmonary monitor, is performing an exercise at a submaximal exercise intensity. The one or more computers then determine a heuristic estimate of a maximal cardiopulmonary state of the user based on the submaximal exercise intensity data and the submaximal cardiopulmonary data.
