SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ACCESSIBLE COMPUTER-USER INTERACTIONS
20230162619 · 2023-05-25 · ·

Implementations described herein relate to methods, systems, and computer-readable media for accessible computer-user interactions. For example, a method can include displaying a graphical user interface on a display screen. The graphical user interface includes a virtual assessment, the virtual assessment is representative of an assessment examination, and the graphical user interface further comprises a graphical element that represents a portion of a logical problem of the assessment examination. The method can also include receiving a signal indicative of placement of a physical object onto the display screen above the graphical element, repositioning the graphical element responsive to physical movement of the physical object on the display screen, and generating a portion of an assessment score based at least in part on one or more of: physical movement of the physical object on the display screen, the signal, or the repositioning of the graphical element.

Haptic content presentation and implementation

A method includes displaying, on a touchscreen, a video comprising a video frame and determining, based on a saliency map of the video frame, a region of interest in the video frame. The method also includes detecting a touch on a region of the touchscreen while the video frame is displayed and generating a haptic response in response to determining that the region of the touchscreen overlaps with the region of interest.

An input method usable by a terminal including a touch screen display, identifies first touch input locations on a touch screen. The first touch input locations comprise a predetermined number of concurrent multiple touches. A predetermined number of input buttons comprising a predetermined number of areas on the touch screen are associated with corresponding identified first touch input locations. A touch pattern is detected comprising a second touch input of one or more of the predetermined number of input buttons and an alphanumeric input corresponding to the detected touch pattern is processed.

Implementations described herein relate to methods, systems, and computer-readable media for accessible computer-user scenarios. For example, a method can include displaying a graphical user interface on a display screen. The graphical user interface includes a virtual assessment, the virtual assessment is representative of an assessment examination, and the graphical user interface further comprises a graphical region that represents a portion of a logical problem of the assessment examination. The method can also include determining placement and/or alignment of an embossed screen overlay that allows a visually-disabled person to interact with the computer.

HAPTIC FEEDBACK DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING HAPTIC SENSATION BASED ON VIDEO
20220383712 · 2022-12-01 ·

A haptic feedback device for providing haptic sensation comprises a haptic feedback interface that includes a plurality of haptic elements. The haptic feedback device detects a speed and a direction of travel associated with a plurality of moving objects in an upcoming scene of a video based on a look-ahead buffer of the video played on an external display device or the haptic feedback device. A haptic feedback is determined for the upcoming scene of the video based on the look-ahead buffer of the video and the detected speed and direction of travel associated with the plurality of moving objects. One or more movable haptic cues are generated on the haptic feedback interface using the plurality of haptic elements in synchronization with a current scene played on the external display device or the haptic feedback device, based on the determined haptic feedback.

SPEED READING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A method for handling texts when reproduced on a display is provided. In a first step, a digitized text that is to be reproduced is selected. In a second step, a software program is executed, which includes at least one rule for the setting of at least one distinction that is perceptible when reproduced on the display and is incorporated into the digitized text. The software program is used on the digitized text in order, in accordance with the rule, to make the at least one distinction in the text.

WRIST-BASED TACTILE TIME FEEDBACK FOR NON-SIGHTED USERS
20170357321 · 2017-12-14 ·

The present disclosure generally relates to tactile time feedback. Systems and methods for tactile time feedback include detecting a sequence of touch inputs at an electronic device, and in response to a determination that the sequence of touch inputs meets tactile time output criteria, output a tactile output pattern that indicates a time of day.

INPUT APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

An input apparatus includes a touch panel and a processor. The touch panel is configured to receive a first input of giving a first instruction that a dot configuring a braille character corresponds to a dotted protrusion through a first operation and a second input of giving a second instruction different from the first instruction of the first input through a second operation different from the first operation. The processor is configured to identify the braille character based on the first input and the second input received by the touch panel and searches for one or more process functions corresponding to the braille character identified by the processor.

Communication support device, communication support method, and computer-readable storage medium including program

A communication support device comprises an imaging unit, a counterpart detector, a distance measuring unit, a expression determination unit, a motion determination unit, and a voice output unit. The imaging unit captures an image of a surrounding environment of a user. The counterpart detector detects a predetermined counterpart in the captured image. The distance measuring unit measures a distance between the counterpart and the imaging unit based on the captured image. The expression determination unit determines a facial expression of the counterpart based on the captured image. The motion determination unit determines a motion of the counterpart based on the captured image. The voice output unit notifies the user of identification information for identifying the counterpart by a voice when the distance measured by the distance measuring unit is an interaction distance of a first threshold or less. The voice output unit then notifies the user of the identification information and at least one of facial expression information related to the facial expression determined by the expression determination unit and motion information related to the motion determined by the motion determination unit by a voice when the distance measured by the distance measuring unit is longer than the first threshold.
