Providing weather information using sound localization

A method, computer system, and computer program product for providing weather information are provided. An indication of a subject of interest may be received from a user. A geo-location of the subject of interest may be determined. Weather information within a threshold distance from the geo-location may be determined. Sounds corresponding to the weather information may be generated. The sounds may include sound localization with respect to the user in order to indicate a position of the weather information with respect to the geo-location.

Haptic feedback device and method for providing haptic sensation based on video

A haptic feedback device for providing haptic sensation includes a haptic feedback interface that includes a plurality of haptic elements. The haptic feedback device receives a plurality of videos each recording a real time or near-real time event in a three-dimensional real-world area from a different viewing angle. The haptic feedback device receives a user input that indicates a selection of an image-capture device from the plurality of image-capture devices. The haptic feedback device detects a plurality of different motion associated with a plurality of objects in an upcoming scene of a video captured by the selected image-capture device based on a look-ahead buffer of the video. A haptic feedback is determined for the upcoming scene of the video. One or more movable haptic cues are generated on the haptic feedback interface using the plurality of haptic elements in synchronization with a current scene of the video.

Systems and methods for interactive braille display
11436942 · 2022-09-06 · ·

An interactive braille display system includes a processor and a display unit in electronic communication with the processor. The display unit includes a braille cell unit and an interactive unit in physical contact with the braille cell unit. The interactive unit includes a surface layer for displaying braille information and sensing tactile contact by a user. The interactive unit also includes a subsurface layer in physical communication with the surface layer, the subsurface layer including electrodes for detecting a capacitance change caused by the tactile contact by the user. The capacitance change corresponds to a position of the tactile contact by the user.

Layered electro-magnetic refreshable braille display device and braille reader

The present invention discloses a layered electro-magnetic refreshable braille display device and braille reader. The layered electro-magnetic refreshable braille display device includes three layers of braille display modules and a touch panel. Each braille display module includes 5 plates and a plurality of tactile pin driving mechanisms for driving the “up” and “down” of the braille dots. One or more lines of braille cells are arranged on the touch panel. Each line of braille cells displays a plurality of braille characters. A microprocessor is connected to a braille translation module, a voice playing module and an interaction controller respectively, wherein the interaction controller is connected to the braille display device, to form the braille reader. This device can display one or more lines of braille characters by relying on the electro-magnetic principle. It boasts real-time refreshing of the braille, synchronization of braille display and voice playing.

ORIENTATION AID SYSTEM FOR BLIND PEOPLE

A method for assisting the use of an electronic transaction device. The method includes activating an assisted mode, the activation of the assisted mode being triggered by a detection of a placement of a data entry assistance accessory on a touch screen of the electronic transaction device.

Interface and tools for accessible textbook generation

A system configured to provide a transcription building interface may be usable by transcribers to produce versions of textbooks and other works in accessible formats such as braille. The interface may receive data from a publisher of a work, such as a NIMAS file set, which provides a starting point for transcription but must be further modified to produce a production ready braille version. The interface presents a print display, a braille display, and a style display of the underlying data, and may receive input modifying the content of one or more of those displays, with any changes synchronized across each. The interface further provides toolsets that may be used to automate the creation of certain complex content in braille, including tools for describing lists, mathematical concepts, and images, which have conventionally been manually encoded.

SYSTEMS, DEVICES, AND METHODS OF DEVELOPING OR MODIFYING SOFTWARE USING PHYSICAL BLOCKS
20220244926 · 2022-08-04 ·

Systems, devices, and methods for software development or modification. The disclosed technology relates to transforming interactions with physical blocks by a human developer on an activity surface into computer-understandable digital information or logic for developing or modifying software (e.g., websites or mobile applications) in real-time or near real-time. The physical blocks are representative of software elements used in software development. For example, the structures, colors, shapes or hardness/softness/squeeze/bend/flex/elastic/shape-memory/rigid properties, whether symmetrical or asymmetrical, whether open-shaped or close-shaped of the physical blocks can determine which software elements are being developed and the arrangement of the blocks can be mapped to how the software elements are to be included in the software. Users located remotely from the developer can provide annotations or feedback to the software being developed in real-time.
